Gabrielle ELizabeth Botte 3/8/2007 @ 1:53am.

Jen and Gabrielle (Gab-ri-elle) are doing well, Gabrielle was very hard on her mother so we are working on her recovery. 7lbs 8oz, 20.8 inches, 10 fingers 10 toes all that good stuff. Was a very long labor and very long delivery, no C-section but was as close as you can get to not having one, the team of doctors were in the room to take her to the O.R. and it came down to the doctor giving us one last contraction to try to get her out and we did with a lot of help. Sorry not more info to give but I am home for a brief visit and I am going back. Oh and here is a link to a picture of Ms. Gabrielle Elizabeth:

congrats on the beautiful little girl . . .
It was zero sleep for the first 2 months, then gradually sleep returns. Our nine month old sleeps through the night most of the time. He awakens for about an hour or so in the middle of the night occasionally. Teething wakes him on average about one or two nights a week.
He is well worth it, as I am sure Gabrielle is.

Stan, this is Ben Botte, congrats on your knee surgery and you being in remission. I would like to hear more about the ACL replacement. On June 10th I crashed my FZR1000 on a major highway at approx 80MPH. I had a lot of gear on but I broke my right wrist very badly, and a minor break on my right ankle. Not sure about DG at the moment with my right wrist. I had an emergency surgery that Sunday but I have to have another one on July 10th. I am missing one of my bones in my wrist. But the worst right now is I have complete tears of my MCL, ACL and Meniscus. There is nothing left of my left knee. I guess what was your rehab like, was it in patient or out patient? How much pain did you go through? What was it like 2 -3 weeks after surgery. I am in a wheelchair right now and I have nothing but time to think about it. I see the Doctor Wednesday to schedule my knee surgery, I have been waiting because I had extensive road rash on my knee and they cannot cut into my knee until it is healed. I am praying that we can get the surgery done the first week of July. I thank you for any insight you may have for me.

Ben,

Got word of the accident through Jerry Gotcher while he was in the Dallas area visiting his family this weekend. Sorry to hear about your injuries, but THANK GOD you had enough protection on to live to see Gabrielle ELizabeth the next day!

Hope your recovery is quick and as painless as possible. Please keep all of us posted.

Okay, enough about you, How is that beautiful little girl? My youngest is 9 weeks old today. Forgot how crappy no sleep was.....the 3.5 year old sleeps long and hard!

John, I'm getting better each day but I have a long road ahead, my recent right wrist surgery was a failure, no pins removed, the bones could not be moved over. I have another to try again in 30days. I have been putting left handed in the backyard. :) However I don't know if I could play just as a lefty, I don't feel like me. Does that make any sense? Oh well Time will tell, I really really want to throw right handed, but I may never throw as far. or be able to throw a Spike or Knife shot. That was my bread and Butter. :(

Here is the weird thing that has happened, I have started walking. My left knee was evaluated my my doctor and he thinks now that my MCL will heal without Surgery, and my ACL will need surgery soon. (Thanksgiving) I walk with a big brace on my left leg but I have NO pain in the knee at all. (walking) I have not tried to run as my ankle is sore still.

My daughter is so cool, we are so blessed. She sleeps through the night every once in a while and if she does get up she wakes up around 1am and goes back to sleep in 5-10 min. She is 4 months old now and is sleeping in her own room now. She hardly ever cries and Smiles every 5 min it seems. I hope I can get back to normal or close and I can teach her to throw and then I will have Schick teach her how to play. :) We all know I'm a head case. LOL
I hope she likes to play when she gets older. One of our new Pros Gaige McNutt is really good and we have watched him play since he was 5. He is 17-18 now. I hope Gabrielle does the same.

How are things with 2 kids, Does the wife stay home or do you do child care. We want to have another also in a couple of years. 1 is pretty hard to take care of, my hope is the 1st kid can help out with little things. Is this the case for you? Congrats on the new one, Pics?

I will PM my web address for her pics, I haven't uploaded any because of the accident, I will soon.

Here is one from the last couple of weeks:

Nice picture Ben. I see you there, wrapped around her little pinky. My experience was that 1 was a shock at first, but it smoothed out and 1 was not tough to take care of. When #2 came it was not too difficult to deal with 2 of them either.BUT, when #3 came the game was really on. Anyhow, no matter how many you have you will be able to handle them. I hope you do get your right hand back in good enough shape to throw, but just in case, go to work with the left. Its about the game and the friends you have in the game. But mostly, its about Gabby!

All true my good man!

Kidney stones are no joke either, they made Schick see a doctor, Brad never goes to the doctor! Get well soon!
