1 in 17 shot at a basket? Still not good enought odds for me to win.
Seriously, every AM in the region should make every effort to attend this tournament. Appomattox is still the hidden-gem of the Virginia disc golf scene, plus Daniel and all of the locals have been putting in alot of effort to have the course in it's best shape ever for the Labor Day weekend event.

Aug 02 2007, 09:55 AM
Thanks Jeff, we have new tee pads in place now for the entire front nine of whites. We hope to have the back in this weekend. The course is looking good, we plan on getting some trimming done as soon as we get the rest of the pads in.
Like Jeff said, "every AM in the region should make every effort to attend this tournament." It's going to be a fun one on a great course.
found out that I am not going to be going to the beach that weekend so I plan on being there. Whiile your trimming cut some trees down on 12 and 13 Please! Is the winner going to get a paid entry into the pro 2 weeks later?

Jimmy you know at this course anyone who can throw a disc and somehow miss the tree in the middle of the fairway will win! You know though even though there are trees in the middle of the fairways, the course is growing on me! Plus people have really been working to clean it up. It looks fantastic. Everytime I play it, it plays better. Way to go Daniel and crew! See you out there for dubs today. Cant wait. BRING IT!

I'll let Daniel or Jason know. It's looking like I should make it, so cross your fingers...

The Classic was a blast. Thanks to Daniel, Jason, and co. for all the work they put into this event. The putting, CTP, and distance field events were nice complimentary events that were fun for everybody. The course was in great shape, very mentally demanding as always. Each hole has the possibility of being a battle to say the least.
Congrats to the MODG on getting it done this weekend. Dude threw some great golf on a very tough course. 65 on the blues? That is insane shooting.

first off i want to thank everyone for coming to support the elk creek classic. And to thank everyone who helped
out with getting the course ready. and a BIG CONGRATS goes out to Dee, Randy, John, AND Jimmy for thier wins at the Classic.
As for the blues i know they need some work done to them. but as we can see they can be played well, as jimmy and kevin ripped it up.but some trees will be cut paths to the blues will be marked better. But i hope everyone enjoyed themselves and the course.
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Thanks for having us in town. Great effort by all. Each time you do this it will get a little easier and a lot more fun for all of you, so keep it going. Thanks Jason. The blues do need to have a little work done but if you guys do the same format for the pros, throw the blues in the second round. My 2cents. Oh yea, results?? :D
jimmy be patient on the results Bagger. You just want to rub our noses in your 1000 rated rounds! No really congrats on a completly solid win. I guess I will not get a chance to play against you for a while. The whites where incredible and Im with jimmy on playing white blue white or no blues whatsoever. But hey I wont be there so make all the pros play 3 rounds from blues!!! HA HA. Somehow got stuck with the 2 biggest baggers in VA all weekend. Great group! Sorry about your glasses Greg. I will practice tons and see you all at walnut.
PS: Daniel jason, kevin and whoever else put tons of work into running the event or making the place great....... THANKS your hardwork does not go unappreciated. Thanks you Tabitha for putting up with JASons crap all weekend and letting him run the event. The prizes were the best i have seen . Awesome. If only I could putt!!!!! O well.

Thanks Jimmy, Jeff, John and Frank, glad you all came out to enjoy the course and various competitions. It was a bit of work to put it all together but it seemed to be worth it all.
Congrats Jimmy, John, Dee and Randy (I guess) on your wins.
Jimmy almost took home three of the seven baskets we gave away this weekend but had to settle for only two.
Congrats to Frank for winning the overall in the combined putt, ctp, and distance competitions.

I thought that disc golf was growing, but apparently thats not true in Virginia. Two of the nicest guys Ive ever met, ran the first ever Elk Creek Classic this weekendand they did it with money out of their own pocket!!! The course is SWEETbut its very tough and it will challenge you both mentally and physically. The sad part is that only TWO people (who drove over 3 hours each) showed up for this B Tier event!!! In my 10 years of playing disc golf I have never known a tournament to be cancelled because nobody showed up! Way to representVirginia Golfers!!!

Well, that sucks. Since I've been on baby lock down I haven't talked to any of the pros or masters around here except Scott since the BRO.
The turnout doesn't take away from the super job that Daniel and Jason did. They put on the one of the most lucrative am tournaments on the east coast, gave away SEVEN baskets, field events, lunch. They and some other locals did major cleanup and work on the course, too.
Thanks to Daniel and Jason! This will be one of the biggest and best tournaments in VA one day, I gaurantee it if it's put on by these guys.
