Hey Jason!

Thanks for posting online my Private Message I sent you earlier today! :cool:Yeah, this was pretty much a warning that you have been reported several times over the past few weeks for personal attacks. Now, while none of these borderline cases were found by our moderation team of Alan Sweeton, Kevin McCoy and myself to have violated our Rules, there's penalties if the next one goes against you - a suspension and another three months of probation.

So thanks again for posting this; now everyone can see the facts of your case. Being fully informed, people won't have to bother with "Free cuTT" in their signature file - they'll know that you were given several warnings and every chance to stop the behavior.

That's right, Jason. While several of your posts were reported, none of these borderline cases were found by our moderation team of Alan Sweeton, Kevin McCoy and myself to have violated our Rules.

I just thought it would be prudent to let you know that several of your posts were reported. There's no protocol in our moderator procedures to send such a warning, but I thought I would be courteous and do you a favor. And to remind you that you're still on probation and if one goes the other way, it's gonna result in a temporary suspension and extension of the probation.

Underparmikey (Mike Kernan, #14304) will have his suspension ended on 3/14/07. According to our Rules (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/boardrules.php?Cat=), he'll be on a 3 month probation until 6/14/07. If there is another offense during probation, he'll receive another 3 month suspension.

And then another 3 month probation after that suspension ends.

How many Rs in a proper Prrrnt?

In order to assess this question, we must understand the development of Gas Laws throughout history. Let us start with Robert Boyle, who published the first gas law in 1662.

Boyle's Law: PV=k
'for a mass of ideal gas at a constant temperature, the product of pressure and volume is a constant'

Later, Jacques Charles discovered around 1787 that temperature directly affects gas volume.
Charles Law: V/T=k
'At constant pressure, the volume of a given mass of an ideal gas increases or decreases by the same factor as its temperature (in kelvins) increases or decreases.'

In the early 1800's, Frenchman Joseph Louis #$*&$!-Lussac determined that:
'The ratio between the combining volumes of gases and the product, if gaseous, can be expressed in small whole numbers.'
This lead to major advances in gas stoichiometry and the discovery of Avogadro's number.
Along with #$*&$!-Lussac's other law (P/T=k, The pressure of a fixed amount of gas at fixed volume is directly proportional to its temperature in kelvins.), the above laws were combined to form the

Ideal Gas Law:

PV=nRT

where

P is the pressure (SI unit: pascal)
V is the volume (SI unit: cubic meter)
n is the number of moles of gas
R is the ideal gas constant (SI: 8.3145 J/(mol K))
T is the thermodynamic temperature (SI unit: kelvin).

(The law works with any consistent set of units, provided that the temperature scale is zero at absolute zero, and the proper gas constant is used.)

Now, some of our more observant readers may have already noticed the striking similarity of the Ideal Gas Law to our own message board "<font color="red"> Ideal @$$ Law</font> ". This is not a coincidence, these laws are applicable throughout the universe and are fundamentally interconnected.

Now, as Peckham has pointed out, there has been a less than rigorous attention to detail when applying this law on the message board, and a variety of incorrect ASSumptions have been born.

In most cases, the volume term has been completely left out of the equation and various terms have been confused due to incorrect capitalization.

example#1

How many Rs in a proper Prrrnt?

Without attention to volume and these important details, we lose grasp of the matter at hand, so I will attempt to redefine each of the above laws in laymans terms.

Boyle's Law: "If you squeeze it, then you cheese it"

Charles Law (with proper adaptation from the above law):
At constant pressure, the volume of a given @$$ decreases as its temper eases. e.g. 'Don't fart angry, or one might soil themselves'

#$*&$! Loose-sacs (may be related to Sjur) Law: AKA 'The HoTT ***** Gas Pass'

And Finally, "<font color="red"> The Ideal @$$ Law</font> " published this 5th day of March, in the year of our Lord, Two thousand and seven, derived from the Ideal Gas Law.

We take PV=nRT,

and isolating for Volume (In this case, Volume shall be defined as Loud and nASSTTy)

V=P^(-1)RnT

Now, back to Matt's original question: how many R's?

Actually, R(the ideal @$$ constant) is the only constant within the equation. 'n' is the number of moles of @$$, and all other variables are defined therein. For this reason, only the #n's should be altered when expressing (or expelling) said gASSeousness.

Thus.............................................. .

There is software built into our message board from past moderators that automatically censors out that particular word (another way to say 'homosexual') The end result is that legitimate use such as the French scientist's last name gets censored. I'll look into seeing if we can get this changed.

I don't know why you consider that a good question, considering that nothing Robert Leonard has ever posted has been found by the moderation team to violate PDGA DISCussion Board Rules. And people are never just 'banned.' Your first offense puts you on a 3-month probation. Your next offense warrants a 3-day suspension. Your third offense warrants a 3-month suspension. Good point, but when posting a link to encourage people to visit a Myspace site entitled "MTL Hater" it could certainly be viewed as a personal attack. If we disallow links to pornography and material not suitable for a minor, why would links to profanity and personal attacks not be similarly disallowed?

We have some precedent established with this. Last year HawkGammon had a link in his signature file which went to his private message board with some naughty pictures. It wasn't a direct link; you had to click through a few threads to find the pictures. Communications Director Steve Dodge ruled that as long as a signature file or post does not link directly to inappropriate material and/or does not advertise that inappropriate material is available, then the signature file or post is okay.

In this case, that's exactly what we would have: an advertised direct link to personal attacks and profanity.

BEST POST EVER:

In the early 1800's, Frenchman Joseph Louis #$*&amp;$!-Lussac determined that:
'The ratio between the combining volumes of gases and the product, if gaseous, can be expressed in small whole numbers.'
This lead to major advances in gas stoichiometry and the discovery of Avogadro's number.
Along with #$*&amp;$!-Lussac's other law (P/T=k, The pressure of a fixed amount of gas at fixed volume is directly proportional to its temperature in kelvins.), the above laws were combined to form the

Ideal Gas Law:

PV=nRT

#$*&amp;$!

V=P^(-1)RnT

Thus.............................................. .

ninafofitre
May 16 2007, 12:27 PM
Blue Tee is 220ft
White Tee is 170ft
Red Tee is 90ft

Plus your about 45-50ft elevated above the target.....The Island does look a little small because it rained like 4 feet the last few weeks.

It's 85 feet wide and 45 feet front to back and we are building rock walls around the back and sides.

The best shot is to skip it short off the water ;)

xterramatt
May 16 2007, 03:57 PM
and how will you get there? I am assuming the boat is just for development.... Bridge?

This looks like a cool course if you have an actual island green, one of the first for disc golf, I am sure.... natural, that is.

Vanessa
May 17 2007, 09:38 AM
There's a true island green just south of you Matt, at Chapin - hole 7, completely surrounded by the Crooked Creek. Instructions: take out Aviar, throw it straight, land it softly, and bump head on basket when you go to pick it up. But it is a small island (roughly round, maybe 35-40 feet in diameter. Thus (in spite of instructions above), the actual performance tends to go more like this: skip it off island into water ... leave it short and hit edge of island and drop into water ... let it hyzer out to the left (or right) and slide off the island ... (can you tell that I find it frustrating?!).

I won't put a bunch of pics up on the friZZak page but I'll leave a link to other pics if you want to view it.

Yes the bridge is being built for the island, I just spoke to the owner and they have been collecting the rocks that will end up bordering the island.
More pics of the LoDgE (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=0&amp;Number=648210&amp;page=1&amp;fpart=4&amp;vc =1)

There are also a bunch of greens that have been manufactured to make it another aspect of the game (sort of like Renny) where you will need to be on the correct side of the green to have good chances to make putts.

I also have bunkers, so if you land in them, you'll have to make shots where you may only be 40 feet but your in a hole and can only see the top of the basket.

The Owner said if I can dream it he can build it so tHe LoDgE will have some interesting aspects to it that you won't find anywhere else.

The guy really wants to have a major tournament there someday. He's an old oil tycoon so money won't be the issue :D

Funny u should ask, I was only planning on aTTending one event and returning home. After winning the first I decided to make the 2 hour drive str8 from the other event, and had no supplies with me...So no, I did not change underwhere!! I did change socks though...Everything else was the same. I have to give Scoward credit...After 10 holes he was 6 under and i was even...Then i went on a tear, and tied it up with two to go...It was crazy....

In an effort to escape reality without using drugs, I should be up there either late Monday or sometime Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing what the Fishsticks are up to these days.
