ATTN: i do apologize i meant to type final at waco -- i was wanting round rock but i am going to hold my doubles final there -- & since there isnt much going on in waco this year i wanted to bring something up that way -- regarding the date of the event - i am willing to listen to the feedback so speak up soon -- i could also have my lss final on the 16th of june -- i figured a 2 day event would be better held on a 3 day weekend seems outlaws is every year on labor day weekend & that has a good turnout - that was thinking behind it -- however i also understand that is the only event & not a final --

Funny story, I lived in Nacogdoches years back. The first time I tried to dip, I puked all over the back porch of the tri-delt house. I went back a couple of years back and the stain was still there ....... Priceless......
Beware, I remember hearing about 7-8 years ago that Nacogdoches had one of the highest AIDS rate per capita in the united states ........... Dont be a fool , wrap your tool!

Traditionally, this has been 4 rounds of 18 (2 on each course), plus some kind of Final 9/6.
There isn't much room to put in extra holes on both courses, and the holes aren't hard or long enough for ghost cards.

The American Music Fest
April 14, 2007
Downtown Nacogdoches
Headliners:
Ray Wylie Hubbard
The South Austin Jug Band
Americana Music Fest is a celebration of the various genres of music that are indigenous to the United States, including country, bluegrass, jazz, gospel and rock. Local, regional and nationally known acts will perform on two stages throughout the day. Aside from the musical performances, the Americana Festival also offers a juried art show and festival food. The downtown art galleries will also host an art walk and sale. But the live musical entertainment is the cornerstone of the festival.
Just thought to make everyone aware... if you plan on attending this event, one might want to reserve a room quick, as the above mentioned fest will bring in a few folks.

I'm in for the 4-round layout. The courses are pretty easy and play fairly quickly. So long as we start at 9 am at the latest on Sunday (don't have to worry about the time change this year), the rounds should be done easily by noon, second round at 1-1:30, done around 4:15, tally the scores by 5 and start the skins, be done by 5:45 with awards ready, and done by 6:30 with payout for Ams the only thing running after that. If that's too late for most people to get on the road, Sunday could always start at 8 am...most people are ready at that time anyway.

as usual on my 2 day events -- will be 2 rounds on saturday on 1 round sunday morning with a monster 9 on sunday afternoon -- i would like to change things around a bit & make it just 3 rounds with the final being a skins match for the top 4 pros --- but i need sponsors to make this happen
What's up with the "monster final nine" obsession? If I go to a course, I want to play the actual course, not some made up nine that favors one type of player over another. Also, I'm not going to drive 4+ hrs to play three rounds of golf...it needs to be 4 18's (like it's always been) or you need to include EVERYONE (not just the pro's) who makes the cut in their division in the final nine. I prefer four 18s....this format allows the cream to rise to the top.

I noticed Fly-n-high's website does have that option. Since this one is 95% out of town players, unless there's some serious hype in the next few days, this one might flop big time. Lots of people are wanting to go but unsure what's going on.

When I went into register I had to create an ID and password. After I did that it went really smooth. Go into the site and click on events at the top of the page. After that look at the upper left hand side of the page and you will see a list. That list should have Pecan Park Open 2007. Click on that and then choose your division. If you are not a registered user then it will prompt you to register.

A fun tournament, but too bad she can't make Texas Women's Championship her debut.
Given TWC is the next weekend, the ladies field will most likely be smaller than last year. Most girls are planning to make TWC instead. That event has a great field of ladies just like her, new to the whole experience. In past years, the Rec was our largest division. Bring her to Round Rock Apr 21-22 instead. :)

Yeah, I keep looking for that trophy beside the tournament listing. Meanwhile, I better get me and Jarred signed up.
I think I'm gonna pass on taking my 927 rating up against those 970+ Advanced players. You guys have fun. I'm playing Advanced Masters! :D(because I can)
Is this event worth the drive ????
Does anybody have some room for a couch surfer ???
Possibly coming down from funkytown, we shall see!

Mark will be there again this year, once again playing advanced. I just finished signing him up before lunch. Good luck everyone! He IS looking to share a room if any of you would like to allow him to bunk with you/split the cost etc. Give him a call at (903)477-3134 if you're interested.

pecan park will be FOUR rounds -- 2 on each course - i am going to cap the field at 144 no more ---
you need to preregister online or sign up on friday night -- saturday i will take signups from 7:30am until 8:00 am - players meeting at 9 -- if you sign up after 8:00 it will be an additional $10 charge & it will go to payout in your division -- - THERE WILL BE NO SIGNUPS TAKEN AFTER 8:45 in the morning -- -- lets see i would like to do a final 9 skins for the top 4 pro (Monster) if i can raise sponsorship money for the event -- i think at least $500 would do there -- any takers??? ok as far as caddying this year -- orginally the tri-delts said ok & now i am not getting my calls returned -- so maybe i can work on this again for next year -- but unless something changes in the next week i am not for sure -- -- i do apologize for being so late in getting this up & i hope i got all the registration problems fixed --
For those of you worried about turnout, just look at the last couple of years. Oh James McCaine and I will add two more to open.
That is all well and good Calbert, but the buzz the past years was alot more than it is now ..

Not to get off topic, but how exactly do you generate a buzz for disc golf? You are not going to get radio play across Texas. We have our discussion board and that is about it. The only other thing would be the link showing players signups because we all know that a large field sells itself as players want large divisions.

Well, this particular TD does not operate for a particular cause other than himself. And as a potential customer ( all of us ) any feedback would be appreciated . To not respond , IMHO, is an indication of a business man that does not value his customers. I do not spend my hard earned dollars , where they are not appreciated... Not trying to rock the boat, just want to figure out if this event is worth the 3 hour drive, the entry fee, the cost associated with the tournament , and the weekend away from my kids. I am sure you can appreciate that .
I dont want to play an event just to play an event .. I want to play a quality event. I do not pay to play, I pay for the experience.

The event has changed TDs several times over the years and that always hurts continuity.

I think the players that drove through it didn't think too much of the experience either.
Driving through the countryside immediately after a tornado had come through was interesting as well.

It was very windy at Pioneer park and the Open division finished there this year. I expected the Open lead card to come in at about -7 to -8 as well. I would guess that the 46 was Chris making a move and feeling in the moment. Like any disc golfer I feel I left two or three lieing on the ground. If you look at round 2, also played at Pioneer, the best on that round was a -5 and it was pretty windy then as well.

let me work on everything - i am putting together entry fees etc for this right now --- & i am also working on my LSS FINAL AT pecan park for labor day weekend -- any takers on that!!!!!!!!!! 2 days on a 3 day weekend -- as usual a MONSTER 9 will be involved --
ATTN: i do apologize i meant to type final at waco -- i was wanting round rock but i am going to hold my doubles final there -- & since there isnt much going on in waco this year i wanted to bring something up that way -- regarding the date of the event - i am willing to listen to the feedback so speak up soon -- i could also have my lss final on the 16th of june -- i figured a 2 day event would be better held on a 3 day weekend seems outlaws is every year on labor day weekend & that has a good turnout - that was thinking behind it -- however i also understand that is the only event & not a final --
so if vote now if you want it on may 26th/27th or june 16th/17th
