Like many others, trying to decide what disc and or plastic will be the next money maker. I know the obvious of the Champion Rocs. I looking for something not as obvious. A friend of my says the first criteria a disc that many players are throwing it. I also say a disc, stamp, or plastic that is very distinguishable. My weak guess is the First Run TeeRexes. Throw out your picks. Who will be the first to be funny and say the Lightening Rubber Putter.

Special Blend TL! Not in the STAR plastic, but the SB plastic from the 1st and 2nd run SB Tulsa Orcs and the 05 SB Rocs. I'd buy a few.
Another hot choice would be Comets in the 1st run buzzz plastic. Those would be SOOOOO money.

Or of course an FLX Predator/Tsunami. I would kill for one of those. I guess its just a dream for now.

1st run buzzes are a given. Pick another Discraft disc that will take off like the 1st Run Buzz and you will make some serious money.

ESP Comet. Supposedly they are only making a limited run, and those discs are sweet.

An FLX Magnet would be the floppiest disc in the world. I though the Soft Magnets melted fast, but in FLX you would have a pile of goo in like 10 minutes.

Theres always going to be something out there worth more. The problem with collectable discs are that there is no guide or site to go to that provides decent accuracy of whats out there.

Mark Molnar is selling a Proto CE FL, same plastic as Proto Blueberry Valks, and also the FIRST EVER CE DISC, a CE TEEBIRD. How many of those have you seen? Ive not seen either, and I have been collecting since CE plastic came out.

MaceMans CE Roc is going to open the doors to discs noone has ever seen, as nobody thought they could get the money out of them they could. It should make Ebay real fun for the next who knows how long.

Chase what disc that have recently came out, do you think will be big money in the future? For example, Champion Gremlins? I have read about the disc you mentioned but am looking for some dark horse?

The real obvious choice is the disc that will take 5 strokes off my game. Then we're talking money.:D:D

Id agree with flynvegas, as he knows his stuff. He has an amazing collection, from what Ive read, anyways. Several people on here are way more qualified than I am to make those insights for you. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

However, I think Ontarios are funny. Last year you couldnt move them on Ebay for any real money. Molnar was still selling Hero Ontarios for like 20$. Now with the FR release, look for them to start gaining ground on San Marinos. Not much, but some.

Im not doing much stockpiling of anything right now, with the exception of 11x discs. Rocs, Avairs, Banshees, and all the Star proto discs. ( Black & opaque, Teebirds, Eagles, Valks, Beasts, ect. There are still some floating around and most people just think they are black discs. )

Anything else is kinda tough to guesstimate. You could say "Star Stamped Teerexs" but as was pointed out above, the Champion short runs of those and the Max will have alot more value. ( Not to say I dont have a stack of SS TRs, but I also have some of the TRXs, with the small star, and those are worth 2-3x as much. )

Anything without a Star Stamp when one was/is available will always ride on the back of the price bus. Same with the discs that came in Special Blend before Star. ( Wraith, Orc )

"Night Shift "Orcs should carry more value than they do as they were very limited, and basically gave us a chance to see and demand Star plastic. I would think a great portion of these were thrown, as they were head and shoulders above the normal Orcs, and I think I heard around only 300-600 were made.

Either way, its only worth what someone else will pay.

Yeah. Epsecially with the hard to find versions. I think building any series of discs is good, if its the right disc.

I buy more vintage plastic than new. It's become an overloaded market like baseball cards did in the 90's. I stay clear of tournament / club stamps, with the exception of the USDGC & Worlds.

My son is working on cataloging and taking digital photo's of my collection. Hopefully within a year I can share it with everyone.

Thanks for the info. I would have to agree from what I've read Flynvegas has a great collection. I started playing disc golf around the time CE plastic came out. I wish I would have purchased many more CE discs. I'm still throwing a CE leopard from then. I do like the plastic of the pro line monster.

the discmania MD-1 is money. fits great with my z wasp. also the inferno and either element. also the warlock and wizard. all great discs that get overlooked. my personal new money disc has been a star aero. i have hit 2 aces with 2 different aero's. turned into a go to disc for me.

My main midrange disc that I throw is the x-wasp. Unfortunately, I don't see the them bringing big money since most TD's can order as many x-wasp as they want. Chase, do you think the Champion Whippet will hold its value when the star whippets are made?

It depends really. They will be done in the same kind of short run, but wont have the circle stamp. Im not selling many right now, as I think its worth sitting on.

Star version may turn out crappy.
