That is correct! The Hall of Fame Classic is not a USDGC Qualifier this year because there are already 3 other qualifiers in the southeast. A complete list of qualifying events can be found at USDGC.com (http://USDGC.com).

We would hope that the dedication of the International Disc Golf Center building along with the grand opening of the new PDGA headquarters, Headrick Museum, "Steady Ed" and Innova/Houck courses would be enough to pique one's interest in attending.

Considering it's the Grand Opening of our official headquarters, it's one of those big events where 20 years from now 10 times as many people will say they were there than actually came and played or watched. :)

Will the courses be ready to host a NT event in two months? The Steady Ed course is good but still rough to walk. The Houck/Innova course still has to be built.

In two years this place is going to be unbelievable.

Hey Mark, I'll be down there to look next week with Monroe. Last week, apparently a lot of work was done by Houck, Olse, Harold and others to set their tees and plan additional clearing on the South course.

That may be some people's concern; however, seeing the time spent on the courses shows the dedication of Matt, the course designers and work crews. With the project involving so many people's input, the progress sometimes shifts to a "hurry up and wait" mode. Weather can cause a shift as well.

In addition to the courses being completed, we will be moving our offices into the IDGC and getting the museum ready for the "unveiling". The courses may not be immaculate by April 20th, but the whole picture/project you will be witnessing will be worth the trip. You'll be able to see how beautiful this place will be in the years to come, that is correct. And to be a part of the first event at the IDGC... I get chills just thinking about it!

Be certain that people will be working steadily to make sure everyone has an awesome time at the tournament/dedication. I will post the work day schedules once they are in place. We will have bonfires, cookouts, camping, etc. -- AFTER we work, of course. It will be a lot of fun. We've already had so many generous people come through town and give us a couple of days worth of work. We also have out of town volunteers lined up for next week as well. Such great people we have in this sport. Thank you all!

This will indeed be the Disc Golf Mecca.

See everyone soon!

As with any new course, the courses at the IDGC will develop and become much better over time. The grand opening marks the beginning, not the end of this project. The potential out there is limitless but it will take time to implement all of the amenities that are planned for the facility. That being said, the courses will be in great shape for the tournament.

The clearing contractor has completed stump removal and additional clearing on the Headrick Memorial course, affectionately called, "The Ed", by locals. Augusta club members held a work day out there this past weekend to begin the fine tuning on that course and it is beginning to look pretty good. Matt Gillis has done a phenomenal job turning the designers visions into a reality and he is to be commended for his efforts. Clearing and stump removal on the Innova/Houck course is about 80% complete. John staked out all of the basket and tee locations on his visit last week. We will begin fine tuning and equipment installation on that course in the next couple of weeks. We will also be installing a few foot bridges in preparation for the tournament.

Both courses will feature one set of concrete tee pads and tee signs for the tournament with additional tee pads to be installed on both courses later.

PDGA members can assist the effort by making a tax deductible donation to the IDGC Endowment Fund (http://pdga.com/documents/IDGC/IDGCEndowmentFundBrochure.pdf) and/or by attending some of the course work days that will be scheduled in the next two months.

We have a lot of work ahead of us but the courses will be ready!

Brian Graham
