But what made me ask is that after Mace was called Bob suddenly mentioned he was a frisbee golfer and it got me thinking that they already have the contestant picked out.

They have workers that talk to people while they are in line waiting to get into the studio. If you are more interesting, you get called up. 17684 is correct; you have to pay the taxes on anything you win and want to keep. Wouldn't that be cute if Mace was sleeping in that bed. :o
