Dear Pennsylvania disc golfer,

You probably heard that the PA State Disc Golf Championships is to be held at the IUP College Lodge in Indiana, PA this year.

You may have heard that the top finishing Pennsylvania Pro player and the top finishing Pennsylvania Advanced player at this year's state championship will win a paid entry into their respective 2007 National Championships.

You may also have heard about the Pennsylvania club sponsorship program that will guarantee spots in the limited field of 90 players for sponsoring clubs so that your best players have a chance to finish on top.

This message is to make sure that you know that the date of the PA State Disc Golf Championships is May 5-6. It was mistakenly reported to be May 14-15 in a previous email.

Please take the attached document outlining the club sponsorship program to your next club gathering and light the fire under your folks. We want as many PA players in this field as possible, and we want to send our best players to Winthrop and Tobaggan to represent. The club registration deadline is March 10.

A flyer covering all the details of the event is soon to be posted, but here is the quick fix on the tournament:

Less than a week remains before I have to send off the entries for PFDS-sponsored players for the PA State Disc Golf Championship May 5-6 at the Lodge. A paid entry in to the pro (USDGC) and am (USADGC) national championships will be awarded to the top finishing pro and advanced players at the State Championships. These prizes are in addition to the PDGA payout for this B-tier event.

PFDS can designate 10 players - 5 pros and 5 ams -- to be in the limited field of 90. We will mail our bundle to IDLA on Mar 7, so I must get your entry by March 6. If you are one of the players on the list below and have not sent me your entry form and fee by March 6, you may lose your spot to a lower rated PFDS member that does send me their form and fee. If you are in spots 6-10, you should send your registration because if you are not a club desigated player, your registration will be among the first processed on March 11 once the club deadline has passed.

Some special tournament merchandise is to be given to all of the club-sponsored players in the event, and currently six clubs are on board, including Friends of Sedgley Woods, Bucks County Disc Alliance, Creekside Crawdads, Bearclaws, PFDS and IDLA, with others expected to join. Being part of the PFDS bundle is the best way to be sure you will in the field.

On March 11, registration for the event opens to all other players. It is likely that only around 40 spots will be left after the club registration, so send your entry in immediately!
