Who wants to drive back and forth to Austin when there is such a good time to be had out there. ;)

The added cash will be split per pro player...so if we have 15 open, 5 masters, and 5 women, that would be 25 total pros...or $300 to MPO,$100 to MPM and,$100 to FPO

Pizza God
Mar 08 2007, 05:53 PM
Please no fireworks, Moody has asked in the past not to bring them.

There is at least 2 restrooms on property with water (bring extra TP, ran out last year :o) There is a shower in the restroom near the barn with hot water (at least if you are the first to use it)

I had no problem setting up in the dark last year. I just picked a campfire and camped near it. Turned out to be Dallas Disc golfers. Man it was cold that night.

I would bring some wood for the campfire. If Q is cooking, let him cook for you for all the meals. That was the best part about last year. I had some breakfast bars for breakfast, but at least one morning, the guys from Dallas fed me eggs :D

Wow.... If my eyes do not decieve , this event is full.....

Amazing, the Open Men's division is the largest .. I did not think things like that happened @ a PDGA event...

cgflesner
Mar 13 2007, 11:10 AM
Once the PDGA puts in the expert division from what I hear the open division will be the smallest it has ever been so don't get used to it.

I wouldn't think it's very Texan-like to dodge the Open division even if an Expert division was an option at A-tiers in the future...

So why add it?
We have too many divisions as it is.
This sport will never take off when you, the PDGA, allow players to play for cash is a division with less comp.

There should be 3 divisions
Am, Open, and, Masters

What other sport that is a success has any divisions besides the pro divisions?

yobyug
Mar 13 2007, 11:50 AM

ck34
Mar 13 2007, 12:04 PM
So why add it?

Expert is only proposed for A-tiers and optional at B-tiers with over $500 added cash if TD wants to offer it (no C-tiers). A-tiers are where the high rated ams over 960 take advantage of their Advanced position and several pros in the 950-980 range just don't play to avoid donating to the hotshots from out-of-town.

So, if more Experts are playing for merch, more money is potentially added to the Open purse, Advanced players are happier with no baggers AND their prizes are smaller since their division will be smaller. Top prize values in Expert will also be much smaller compared to lower paid places in Open versus the problem now with big payouts in the giant Advanced division compared with lower paid Open spots with better scores. It's a win-win all the way around.

vinnie
Mar 13 2007, 12:16 PM
wrong place to start this subject......I say we run a BUNCH of NON sancationed events with only the 3 divisions....And let the PDGA take care of the rest of the world and we will take care of our own.

You can run just those divisions and have PDGA sanctioning. No policy has ever prevented that if that's what TDs and players want in your area. And why do Masters get special treatment in your format? The true old school divisions would be Open, Am and Women.

Why can't just drop the pre and be LOUd?

Blast from the past. My guess was taken by Vinnie, but I'm going with the red duece, Don Wilcheck. However, I also think either Shannon or AK fit that description. :o

Sounds like McCaine has confused you, Hemme. To understand a "Girten," you must first understand a "McCaine." To pull a McCaine is to preach hyperbole as truth (often in an effort to discredit one's character) so as to detract from the facts of an argument or debate.

I hope this clears things up.

from Houston take 71 west towards bastrop go through bastrop and turn left on highway 20. Stay on 20 for 8.8 miles than take a left on FM 535 for 4.4 miles than turn right on watterson rd for .8 miles than take a left on john craft rd for 50 yards or so. turn right into 1st driveway

Sorry Chris but you are going to get people close but not quite there. Follow Chris's directions till your on John Craft rd, go 1.5 miles then go left on Meuth Cemetery rd. then 1st driveway on the right.

From Dallas exit 71 east in S. Austin from IH35. Turn right on highway 20 (about 20 miles) and follow directions above.

If you're coming from I-35 N (D/FW etc.) you might want to jump on 183 south (big freeway intx) to 71 east to bypass town (traffic on 35 will be slow all day going thru the heart of town)

DGTV did send a camera down with Mike Gerads from MN.
If anyone else has a camera and can get footage, the more complete we can cover the event. Send the tape with the MN players (of course we'll send it back) and by mid next week the 2000+ people per day from around the globe can feel like they were there.

Email info@discgolftv.com if you can assist.
Thanks,
TG
