I used to carry a single of a bunch of discs that changed during my first summer(usually about 20 different discs and almost all different molds) but now carry 2 of my main discs and 1 each of specialty discs(now 15-16 discs of 9-10 molds)

2 monsters
2 orcs
2 surges
2 sidewinders
2 buzzes
2 omega ss
1 KC whippet
1 Flick
1 Viking

I do occasionally switch in a few other discs if I feel that it will work better on certain holes or certain conditions. Like a DX Stingray for rollers or a Wasp for windy days, and so on.

for the first few months when i started playing i carried around 22 discs of which most were different.
Then after about a year i had my bag down to like 14-15 with a few duplicates...
for the last 2 years i've been carrying: aviars, stingrays, buzzzen, sidewinders, teebirds, and either monster/firebird.
Just in the last 2 weeks i've cut my bag down to:
3x aviar
2x buzzz
2x teebird

That seems to be working just as well as carrying the other molds.
Although i enjoy having stingrays and sidewinders to fill in my hyzerflip/anny discs I can do the same with a buzzz or teebird.
Both of my 1st run buzzzen are at the same beat in level and the same for my teebirds So i'm essentially just throwing 3 discs all day. The duplicates aren't thrown much and are just there for practice shots and just in case i lose a disc during the round.

Basically Find a few molds that you really like and can throw well. Make sure you know how to throw them and then get a few dupes.

Less discs I know better. Usually 8 discs, never more than 10. Should note there's no water holes here, so no need to carry extra's.

awsome the less discs you carry the least chance for error.it takes 3 months to master 1 disc.

Well I'm in the process of replacing and taking out discs, but as of this moment...

2 Pro Wraiths
ESP Surge
Elite Z Surge
2 Champion Orcs
2 Champion Sidewinders
2 Champion TeeBirds
SE TeeBird-L
Champion TL
Buzzz GT
DX Gator
2 JK Pro Aviar-X's
Star Aviar Driver

I'm taking out my Wraiths and Surges because theyre becoming so inconsistent both in flight path and distace. I'm going back to discs I liked before I started throwing the faster discs so once some come in the mail my new bag will be...

2 Champion Orcs
2 Champion Starfires
2 Pro Starfire-L's
2 Star Firebirds
2 Champion Sidewinders
2 Champion TeeBirds
SE TeeBird-L
Champion TeeBird-L
DX Gator
DX Goblin
2 JK Pro Aviar-X's
Star Aviar Driver

I am also going to order some Quest AT discs after I pay for my textbooks this semester to see how they fly. They look very interesting, and plus I'm curious. Everyone in BG throws INNOVA and Discraft, and the local sellers only sell those brands along with Wizards.

In tournaments I'll carry a full bag the first round till I get a feel of what I actually need. Then I'll lighten it up.
This is the umpteenth thread about what/how many discs you carry but I'll answer anyway.
drivers
Dx and
a champ wraith
170 and
174 champ viking
Proto Teerex
Champ Starfire X
Star Max
Z extra
Champ Monster X
Sidewinder
05 Champ Beast
Rubber Shark
Flat Top Roc
Glow Champ "Yote"

Glow Aviar
Soft Wizzard

My home courses can be windy, hence all the discs

Trying out spiders to see if they fit in

hmm alot of overstable stuff

:p

Like I said I change it up the second round so I dont have to carry as much

The weight isn't all that bad with quadshocks and most of the weight is from water anyway. 17 discs ain't nothin

Oh but at the Duane Verini Memorial One Disc this last December I used the Monster and came in first.

Whatever :D

I used to carry a ton of different disc molds when I first started, probably about 22 different molds...but only used about a 1/4th of them during any given round. So...over the years I have really paired down my bag. I always carry a backup to any mold that is in my bag. So I carry 9 different molds.

4 Driver Molds
3 Midrange Molds
2 Putter Mold

Usually a Sidewinder
3-4 Rocs from Champion to "well seasoned" DX
1 Buzz because it's longer than a Roc
D-Challenger for upshots
DX Aviar

I guess that's about 15. Occasionally I'll throw in and extra 1-2 discs like a TeeRex or Viking.

I know it's not completely necessary but I'd say minimum is about 5 discs. You want some kind of driver or mid that will turn no matter what (like a stingray or sidewinder) and one that will fade no matter what (firebird or pred). You want something on the tee that will be dependable and straight (like a teebird, roc, or buzzz if you like those). And most importantly you want a putter or putters that can handle any approach or putting shot (wizards, various aviars).

You want to be able to cover just about any distance, elevation change and moderate wind conditions. Other than that, extras you might want could be weight variations, level of beatness, backups or discs for trick shots.

My core bag would be Firebird, Wraith, Coyote and Wizard.
Then i'd add a Champ TeeBird, an Aviar P&A, and a Roc. Then full bag would include more TeeBirds, more Wizards, a Sidewinder, extra Wraiths, a Max and whatever new disc i'm trying out

1 Z Pred
1 Z Flash
2 DX Teebirds
1 Beat DX Valk
3 DX Rocs in different stages of wear
1 Beat X Stratus
2 Wizards...1 Soft, 1 SuperSoft

I have a small starter bag, so I am limited on the number of discs I can carry. I plan on getting a Revo soon...either the Carolina or the Backpack, so I'll carry more discs of these molds then...an X Predator, another Flash, another Stratus (unless I can beat up a couple Rocs to the point they turn like the Stratus does).

I don't feel comfortable having only one copy of some of my favorite discs...no backups is a scary thing! :o

It's winter here in CO, with lot's of snow.

Revo Mini, 2xAviars, 1xGoblin, 2xMD1 (D/SG), 1xStShark, 1xStGator = 7
Putters and mids always seem to be easier to find in the snow, they don't cut through as often. All bright colors make them easy to find.
I can actually shoot rounds that are on average 3--5 strokes higher than my best rounds with drivers in the bag. It's good practice and fun.

Starting to believe in the above statement. I put the meteor in my bag b/c i had just lost a beat up, seasoned holiday buzzz. While waiting for the new holiday buzzz to wear in i fell in love with the meteor.

As for total number of discs in my bag....8 molds and total of 12 discs. Keep it simple.
