Has anybody tried these out yet?

No, but why would you do that to a disc, it looks like another idea that wont last from discraft, just like the ultragrip.

I think I'll like it. Gummy+floppy+flexy=yummy!

Too bad I throw neither a Surge nor a Buzz. :(

I'd get one of those surges for winter night play. cold hard plastic hurts cold hands

The Local 101 is about to pick up an order of both Surges and Buzzzes. The plastic is like butter. I haven't heard about the flight of the Buzzz, but the Surge is reportedly more overstable than an esp. The plastic feels really nice. They are durable too, I heard that during testing, they were thrown at concrete walls, and held up great until they found a real rough spot on the wall. Then they started to get scuffed. If anyone wants one, we will have these in stock, probably tommorrow. $15 plus shipping ($4.05 USPS priority). Buy 2-4, shipping is still $4.05. PM me or email me at [email protected]

Maybe another innovative idea from Discraft that won't catch on until Innova does it first? ;)

Is the FLX plastic PDGA approved? I don't want to practice with it and like it if I shouldn't be using it. :)

No need for approval. THe Surge and Buzzz molds are approved. The plastic definitely passes the FLXibility standards.

I was able get out for about 15 minutes yesterday to throw the FLX Buzzz. To me, this is by far the grippiest of the high durability plastics available. For whatever reason, it just seems counterintuitive that a highly flexible disc should be stable. But that is exactly what this disc is. my initial impression is that this disc flies very similarly to the regular ESP Buzzz (which I love). I cant wait until this weekend when Ill get to spend some more time with all of Discrafts latest releases.

When it is really cold out the Star plastic has all the flexibility of wood. At the same temperature the FLX flexes like ESP on a warm day.

Not many Discraft threads... and I've got to say this somewhere: Pat Burke had a disc today at the Ottawa Ice Bowl here in Toledo that was sooo freakin sweet... but he said I can't say anything about it... but I want to say something about it!

**** him for showing it to me... felt so pretty in the hand....

This is exactly what I was thinking! I played in an Ice Bowl yesterday and threw both the FLX Surge and Buzzz and loved them both. They are both so true and with the flexibitly of the plastic you just don't think it's possible. The flight characteristics are both very similar to the original run of ESP plastic , but the FLX plastic feels great in your hand! I highly recommend you get your hands on some of these! Thank you Discraft!

Got a FLX Surge and Buzzz at our Winter Warriors double series yesterday. Temps in the teens and twenties with constant snow and these discs were fanstastic! Great feeling plastic and flexible, NOT floppy! Love 'em! Now somebody at Discraft needs to start thinking about getting that plastic into the Banger-GT mold!!! C'mon guys you know you want to....

The Soft Banger GT were shipped to Team Members last week. I am trying one from TG. It has a nice feel and is overstable.

I have been throwing the new FLX Buzz's and Surges. They are WAY more stable then anyone thought. Even the 160 FLX Surge that we've been throwing is overstable. And the ESP Tracker, was being called the new "Xtreme Tracker." By some of the Team Members in MN.

Overall, all the new ESP and FLX plastic is great. Way to go Discraft.

I was under the impression that the Soft Banger GT was made with the soft elite-x plastic (like the soft x-Challenger). If so, I think I would prefer the ESP FLX instead of the soft elite-x for a Banger GT.

I've got a new Soft X Banger [which is an inherent contradiction in double entendre kinds of terms but anyway] and I was not sworn to secrecy.

Nice disc! The plastic does not seem to be the same as their other Soft X. It has a rubbery feel to it. Everyone seems to agree that it is softer or more flexible than a Swirl APX or a Soft Challenger.

I've only thrown it for short putts.

The Soft (X) Banger was thrown yesterday in 15 degree weather and heavy wind. I putted with it and approached with it. In cold weather its a stable pig. We were thinking of calling it the Hyzer Soft Banger. Any other thoughts?

How warm was the weather? The FLX Surge was overstable in 15 degree weather. The only question we had was: "What would FLX be like in warm weather?" I think this plastic is far advanced to Innova's "Gummy" plastic!!!!!!!!!

Feels, flies, and flexes great in the 30-40 degree weather. Looking forward to testing it in 105 degree weather (not really but that's the price we pay to be able to wear shorts here 10 months out of the year)

I twisted one of mine into a figure 8 shape and held it for 60 seconds. Then placed it's lopsided self on the table and walked away. 30 minutes later i returned and there it was, in it's original shape ready to be thrown. Amazing!!!

I got to throw an FLX Surge the other day. Not sure if was because the extra grip gave me extra snap, but I blasted it 15 ft past my 2 other Surge drives. Very cool plastic.

Every thread gets invaded by Gateway!!! The difference between the Gateway blend and the FLX is, after hitting something, the FLX actually holds its stability.

I will be watching the FLX closely. Last night I was holding one while I was messin around in the garage. after working it in my hands for a few minutes I gripped it like I would to throw it and I thought my thumb was going to push right through it. Time will tell but my research has led me to believe that if the transition from flight plate to wing is thin like that the disc will not hold its shape and the flight plate will clover (like a wizard) Sorry if that felt like a gateway hijack! :D
