Disc Golf Live video magazine, episode 15, is in the hands of our broadcast partners and should start showing up on broadcast schedules soon. If you're in an area served by community or public access TV and want to get a copy of the show to submit locally, let us know. Program DVDs are free to broadcast partners and its easy to make up a tape to submit to your station. Some stations accept DVDs as well.

The episode kicks off with a couple of stories from the recent United States Disc Golf Championship in Rock Hill, SC. Theres an in-depth look at the devilish hole 13 of the Winthrop Gold course, and some tips about grips from touring pro Dave Feldberg. A piece submitted by Stu Shulman of Ventura, CA, shows off some action from the left coast, while a story and pics submitted by Joe Todd illustrate the scene at the recent Southern Nationals championships. Brian Sullivan teamed up with some members of Team Discraft to produce a piece on throwing the forehand shot, and theres a segment from the 05 Pro Worlds to cap things off. Thanks to Innova, Discraft, and the PDGA for their support of Disc Golf Live.

At DGL we're all about bringing disc golf to the people, so we make copies of the shows available at a low cost for use as merch table or player package items, membership perks, etc. Individual subscriptions are available for home delivery. We also license folks on the local end to burn their own copies of our shows, making DGL even more affordable. We provide a free limited duplication license to Affiliated clubs, so let us know if this is something you and your local players want to look into as the new season of disc golf action begins to play out.

Thanks, CQ. I aim to please! I hope the shows have been reaching you alright. I haven't forgotten about the CTOD folks. They're a hard nut to crack; I think I've got to send some paperwork and discs out and hope they get to the right folks on the Time-Warner end.

Hi, Joe -

The possible broadcast outlet I referred to is called Central Texas On Demand, and its run by Time-Warner. They're not the most responsive folks, so its been slow going in terms of getting the show on the air via that route. Persistence may pay off, however.

Otherwise, your local station in Austin is here:

I have been sending my shows recently to another individual in the area, but haven't heard back about the show being scheduled or submitted yet; these things take time. DGL will play locally if someone joins the station and submits tapes of the shows. I send out DVDs and from those its easy to make a tape to meet station criteria.

If you'd like to pursue things further at the station, feel free to look into it. I'd be happy to send shows your way if you can get them on the air for all to enjoy.

For others who are looking for station info, here's a pretty good central listing, for the US and abroad:

Every station is different in what they allow and demand of members, but most are pretty easy to work with and DGL broadcasts are a great way to reach the established DG community as well as folks who've never before heard of the game.

Best regards,

Joe
