There is nothing in the rules about holding extra discs while you putt. I know that at times it gives you a better feel for balance.

Heck, if you want to putt with your bag on your shoulder, you can. You will regret it, but you can.

If a player holes out while holding an extra disc in his hand, then reaches into the basket (with the extra disc still in that hand) to pull out his disc, is it another stroke for the extra disc going into the basket? Practice throw (putt)?

I dont think it is an extra stroke just because i see people getting there putter out with there disc and marker disc in hand.

Hmmmm...what if you reach in with your hand that has the putter and when you pick up the disc you putt in, the disc in your hand drops 1" into the basket completly out of your hand and then scoop up both putters together? Stroke?

Not unless dropping a disc 1" onto your your bag is also a stroke.

Actually I don't think it is a stroke cause you have to be in the act of throwing for it to count as a practice throw.

I think a throw must go 2 meters to be a practice throw.

You need to make sure you read the whole thing...

Practice Throw: During a round, the projection of a disc of a distance greater than two meters, or of any distance toward a target,

if you intentionally drop a disc in the basket, it's a practice stroke.
