I just bought (sorta as a joke) a 150 class aviar yesterday. Today I figured I would take it out and putt with it. I actually found it to be the best putter I have ever used and it is for sure going in my bag. I am just wondering if any of you have found a 150 class discs that seems to have worked very well for you. If so, what disc was it ,and how did it perform in general, as well as to its heavier version?

Sounds like something I am going to have to try out. Just wondering, how much range did you achieve when throwing that disc for accuracy and control?

I sometimes throw in my backyard a 150 DX TeeBird to practice on my tomahawks and thumbers.

I throw a lot of 150-class discs, and other discs in the low to mid-150's. I had major surgery back in the spring. When I started back playing I was rather weak and found that most of my discs behaved too over-stable. I was able to throw 150-class discs flat and with some hyzer flip.
My main drivers right now are a 150g Sidewinder, a 155g Valkyrie and a 150g Teebird. As long as there isn't a great deal of headwind, these disks fly great for me. I have a 160g Sidewinder that works well into headwind for me and also flies well for hyzer crosswind shots.
All of my approach and putt discs, however, are in the 160-170g range.

I am the opposite, I know I can throw heavy weighted discs for drivers. I use 169-170 TeeRexes and max weight Maxes. I just could not believe the results that I found with the 150 class aviar. But I think i am going to try a 150 Beast for finess drives and a 150 Teebird for for finess mid-range like shots. If anyone can give feedback on 150 putters that would be greatly appreciated (I really hope I could get some news from someone who has found a 150 JK or KC pro aviar, but any type of a putter would do). :D

Welcome to the lightweight club.
I have been throwing 150 plastic for a while now. For the most part around 150 is where I like to live, with some exceptions (my putter for example).
My favorites are:
Drivers -
Champion Sidewinder
DX Valkyrie
DX Orc (would love a 150 Champion)
Midranges-
S plastic Element X
DX Whippet
I have yet to find a light driver I consider overstable enough for headwinds. For those I tend to go up into the low 160's. And my putter is a 170. I feel that the heavier weights are more consistant for my putting style. :D

I picked up some 150 class before I went to Japan... My 150g DX Firebird feels just as overstable as a heavier one, but I havent beat it up at all yet. I have a 150 Champ Valkyrie that I use to fix my form when I'm having problems with a smooth release. If I can get that out to where I throw with heavier weights then I know I'm back in business.

Marshall Street has a pretty god inventory of Ultra Light discs, and they still have some Spirits. I used to throw one of these for a thumber disc, until I lost it by overthrowing a pin placement set 10 feet from a pond. :(
I have a 150 Ch. Teebird I play around with. Have gotten it 450. I've thrown a 150 Z-Flick- pretty stable/overstable. Lighter weight discs can be a little harder to control if you're throwing 20-25 gram heavier discs normally. 150 class putters are harder to control throwing hard- really need to throw very smooth. They are great for low ceiling- float type putts. I believe that is what Barry used his for.

I am finessing my putter in but since it is so light it seems that it goes forever and ever making long jump putts with my older heavy weight putters a simple flick of the wrist for my new 150 aviar. So I am basically using it for exactly what other people are! :D

Most of our vendors do not order 150 class.

just the opposite, I throw everything 150 class except the putter. It is a max weight Aviar. Everything else: Valkyrie, Sidewinder, JLS, Panther, Spider, Beast, Eagle, Teebird -- 150 class. They go much further for me.
Since becoming master-level old, my husband started using some of my 150 class (some 160) Valkyries to get more distance. They also give more control, except in heavy wind.

I've thrown 150 class for years. I will step up to a 165 CE Eagle for Kansas type winds. ;)
I have quite the selection of 150 class discs. The longest drive I've had was with a 150 DX Valk with a tail wind. Right now, the "go to" driver is a 150 Star Valk.
I have had some trouble finding overstable drivers in 150. A 150 Whippet is still an over stable pig, but short. I've used a Polaris LF in the past and I'm going to try out the SOLF as soon as the snow melts.
My mids are in the mid 160s and the putter is low 170s.
I've said it for years, if you can throw 150s well, you can throw anything. 150 class discs are the best training aid for form around.
Most guys around here don't have the patience to learn to throw 150 class. They can muscle a heavy disc where they want it to go, so why bother?
Vive la 150! :D

I noticed your adjective, "gummy". My husband likes the gumminess that seems to be found more prevalently in the 150 class. He appreciates the grip on my discs. That is the reason he borrowed some for his distance. I think the gumminess has to do with the weight. Speaking to a couple of the manufacturers, I was told it is much more difficult to make the 150 class discs. They come out with a more gummy feel.

I may be insane, but I believe I read on DISCussion once (a long time ago) that the hardening agent & the weighting agent (for Champion-type plastic) are one in the same. Thus, light discs = gummies.

That sounds great to me! My favorite drivers are a 150g Champ Sidewinder and a 155g Champ Valk, both on the gummy side.

I have had some trouble finding overstable drivers in 150. A 150 Whippet is still an over stable pig, but short.
Have you tried a 150g Firebird or Viking?

Yep; I have a whole box of 'em (147-150g), yellow, pink, & orange.
I used to throw a 150g gummy Ch. Viking for distance, but I tore my meniscus (again) hucking it. Had to remove it from the bag when I recovered (BAD MOJO).

150 class sure makes an old man's golf life easier, and longer too probably.
Current bag:
150 Gummy Champ Sidewinder
150 Star Winder
150 Star TeeBird
154 CE Leopard
150 SOLF (for me these are the discs that rule the world)
160 QOLF (probably to be replaced with 150's as soon
I can find time to throw the new ones I just
received)
160 SOLS (only because I can't find them in 150 class)
147 Star Eagle (if you haven't tried them Ray, ya gotta)
150 Star or Champ FB (according to whim)
147 DX TeeRex (love this DX version, has beaten into what
I expected the Wraith to be)
Putters - 162 and 167 Sirius Omega
Mids - 169-171 Champ Cobra, Star Stingray, Star Shark, and
Champ Gator

I carry a couple 150g Z-Flicks. GREAT thumber disc!
Back in the mid-90's when I was learning to play, the first driver that really boosted my distance off the tee was a green, 149g Cyclone. I think it might have been those forerunners of today's premium plastics. Definitely more durable than every other disc I had back then. Man I loved that disc! It was a sad, sad day when I lost that one in a water hazard...

What color have you felt Ray? The taffy lavender 147 I have is sticky, the 147 red is hard and slick, the 147 orange is in between. All fly very, very far with an S-line or flat and hard. Much longer than the gummy Champ 150 Eagles, which I also like. Not as long as the 150 QOLF though. They are amazing. :D :D

I had a 130ish g "Cheetah". It's in quotes because is was the most overstable freaky disc I've ever had. It flew NOTHING like a Cheetah. It took several years before I beat it up enough that it became flippy.
