So, now that the tourney is the weekend after DGLO, what will the qualifier's be this year? I definitely plan on returning for my last as I missed out last year.

They are being finalized as we speak. It will be a crunch for the qualification process, but should come off without a hitch.

Come on...what's the big holdup? Not trying to be pushy, just excited about trying to plan my tourney schedule and possibly qualify. I'm up here in massachusetts where the PDGA events are not so plentiful and careful planning for trips is necessary.
When will the 07 site be up and running?

Yep, that is the World's thread. This is the AmNats thread.
BG Ams will be a qualifier.
DGLO will be a qualifier.
Loco at the Mills' AM1 champ will get a spot as well.
I'm sure there will be other events, but these are all I know for certain. I would bet that the Memorial is a qualifier. Also, players can always qualify the week of, which is the week after DGLO. These rounds start during the week of June 11th. We are hoping to get a good weekly rate at area hotels for players to stay for DGLO and AmNats.

I hope Davenport (River Cities Rumble) will be too.
Either way, I'm there.

Feb 01 2007, 03:45 AM
most A-tiers are qualifiers
tafe
Feb 01 2007, 10:34 AM
They shoot for a good spread across the nation. If you have a bunch of A-tiers don't expect them all to be eligible. Some sparsely populated areas might have to go with a B-tier but usually the amount of people getting in from a B is less. This year could be a little different though, we'll see.
cevalkyrie
Feb 01 2007, 12:03 PM
Last year at a B-Tier we had 15 or so qualify from Rockford. http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5687 Since the change of Am Nats this year Lombard will be a qualifier for 2007 & this year's Rockford event will be a 2008 qualifier.
Our series averaged over 50 Advanced players last year and Lombard had 56. I'd expect that to be about the same this year so about 10 to 12 players will qualify.

This is just a rumor, but....
THere is a possibility that for BG Ams, the "20 spot maximum" will be lifted. That would mean that 20% of the 300+ Advanced field at BG AMs could qualify.
Again this is not confirmed.

The website is not updated yet (where does the time go ), but here's the hotel information:
Fly into Detroit Metro (DTW - most options), or Flint (FNT - closer, less crowded)
If you're coming in for both DGLO and USADGC, I recommend:
The Kensington Inn (http://www.kensingtoninn.com/index.htm) (between Hudson Mills & Kensington)
Ask for the "$49 golf" rate.

email reservations: Kensingtonhowell@aol.com
Mention 'USADGC' for the $69/night rate.

We have already filled our vacancy at the Lacey Inn, without much advertising. We've had 11 requests for lodging, and there is still 3 1/2 weeks to go. That is the quickest we have ever filled, and this is the least advertising we have ever done. Any further requests will have to go onto a waiting list.
I wouldn't be concerned about the AM Nats turnout. There will be plenty of competition! Remember, there are still 7 A Tiers to be played that are qualifiers for this event, and June is in the heart of disc golf season. I would be very surprised if the turnout isn't bigger than years past, so have no fears about the numbers.
p.s...we still have 2 lodging openings for DGLO(floor space), but it appears we are full for Am Nats.

We will playing golf, horseshoes, darts, and viewing some spectacular original oil on canvas paintings by Marnie White herself.

Frequently, when someone turns down the cash, the person entering the data doesn't know about it. You could give the TD a heads up if you care. I don't care. It would be much more entertaining to me if a confused rookie pro were to win the thing than if he came all the way from oklahoma only to get turned away. :D

To Pad, Todd, and everyone else involved in running this event so smoothly, I'd like to say a big thank you. This was the best value, well run tournament I have ever attended. Anyone who thought of coming but decided not to should really make the effort next year, I'm sure you wont regret it.
From the start with the fantastic players pack, things just got better. I had a great time playing disc golf on such a beautiful course in the sun for 3 days. With keen spotters, water/gatorade/tent/food stations spread around the course, lunch provided each day, and great golfers everywhere, this was how I like to spend my weekends.
Thanks to all the guys I played with too. I enjoyed every round and it was nice to meet some more great disc golfers, as well as catch up with some old friends.
Thanks again Todd, Pad and co.
