Is there a certain kind of socks that Barry and some of the other guys wear? I see guys wearing the black socks alot but are they waterproof or what?

They are probably some kind of waterproof or sealskin socks. Most pairs I have seen are either black or grey.

Black Socks Rock!!!! :D
If your going to make a fashion statement it goes without saying youve got to start with the undergarments.....and build from there.... :D

I believe that most people would agree with me on this.
I wear black socks because they stay black. One round can easily wreck a pair of white socks. I may look like a fashion nightmare, but at least I look like a clean nightmare!

And the black ones smell no better than their white brothers.

I've already gone through 3 pair of white socks today, and all from simply practicing in my backyard.

Actually, don't socks with color generally react to smell worse than their white counterparts as a result of sweat mingling with dyes?

Interesting how 'times' change...as a kid I recall grimacing going out in public with my dad when he wore his black socks with his dress shoes and...(gasp)...shorts...and there were all us youngins wearing those STUPID tube socks. We all agreed to never EVER wear black socks.

NOW, I won't even buy (or wear) white socks. All my socks are dark now. Here's to you, Dad!

I combined the best of both worlds, long black Adidas soccer tube sox! I come in around 6' 4" or 6' 5" so I have pretty long legs and theses things work great for keeping your legs from being cut up in the bushes. They also kinda work like those tights Lebron James and Dwayne Wade have been wearing in the NBA, they keep your legs warm and fresh and get you threw those long rounds. The best part of all, black is the most intimidating color psychologically!

My problem with long socks of any kind is that my calves narrow down to my ankles quick. Any sock that is stretched enough to cover my calves will sag down to the narrow ankle area quick. I'll wear ankle socks any day of the week... and who cares how dirty a white ankle sock looks?

put kleenex around your ankles to beef em up. its what I always do when I want to make areas look and feel bigger than they are.

closest thing I have seen to that effect is Ryan Renz wearing his ball golf shoes without the spikes. With the whole Paynes Stewart outfit.
