I have a new favorite course - Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park - East. I played both the east and west side today and shot a +4 and -1, respectively. The east side is longer and more challenging, however the west side will eat your lunch just as well. I can only imagine what these courses look like when the trees are full of leaves. If you are in the Memphis area I recommend you play these courses. Bring your "A" game and some extra accuracy. There are MANY trees and tight fairways.

Yes, it is an enjoyable course. I play it almost every year on my way to Nashville to visit my family.

Bryan-

I believe we met during the final at Live Oak? The lights were out at the hotel, and all of us were sitting under the carport drinking beer and talking smack. :D Good times. BTW... there are new signs up at both courses.

That was good times.

I have been playing Shelby Forrest for 18 years, once every other year. The course is really pretty good and not that far out of the way for those driving though Memphis. Well worth the trip.

Same goes for Burns Park in North Little Rock AR. I play that course at least once a year, if not twice.

I played it today with the owners, Danny and Barbara Daniels, and a couple other players. They made me feel right at home. The course is everything I've read/heard and more. It required just about every type of throw I had. They have a great course with some "postcard" shots. Hole 18 should be on the cover of a magazine.
