I am posting this, to get feedback on the dates .The west coast swing has a gap on mothers day May 12 13...I could turn my event into an A tier and raise the bar of sponsership. The touring players will be away from thier moms
.This will be 1 round each day, entry will be $100 with carts. The course has dual tees on every hole.On sunday the event will be over by 3:00 so players who live here can spend some time with thier mommies..... ;)The course is only 45 min from la marada and has plenty of lodging. Those with campers, will get a place to park, on the golf course, for both nights, and even 2 days before. This is a pro venue what is the comments on this event? Thanks :)
Wish I could be there!
Thats all the feedback I have to offer!

There is currently not a break in the Pro schedule that weekend as May 12 & 13 is the current date for the Pro Motherlode run by Mike Travers in Nor Cal. Also, San Diego has an Am event on that particular Saturday as well.
I would suggest talking to Tim Selinske before asking for general feedback on dates as he is the PDGA rep for So Cal.

Then why did the golden state ,squash on the motherload event, when the year before it was on the 7th and 8th of May.When I look at who plays the 2 events up north, there are only 3 players that live in socal. This is a regional event, and a fun one ,I played it in 2004.I am asking what is best for the players ,because the coustomer is always right. This event is 9 hrs north ,and another 2 plus hrs, to get back to santa cruz or more. Some of the top pros may not come out to golden state, because of the new schedule, it is not a good flow. Why do events that have been going on for years post thier dates. This makes it impossible not to step on toes.As of now there is no norcal events posted on those dates nor san diego. What is best for the tour? What is best for the players?A championship ,par 71 golf course 18 miles from innova, 45 min from la marda. ;)No roadtrip stay in beautiful so cal.If these are not 2 different regions, then why do we have a socal norcal challenge? :oThe ground work has been laid ,it is time to play golf.

There was no squashing last year Reese. You don't have the facts. You really need to talk to Tim.
Last year there was a problem getting La Mirada on the weekend Golden State was orginially scheduled for. The city scheduled a big tennis event that was not announced until after the NT schedule was in place. Nor Cal was very gracious to help Tim out by moving the Master's Cup. They were unable to move both events.
PDGA will not post dates until sanctioning agreements are submitted (and perhaps fees paid). The San Diego date is posted on the So Cal site. The Nor Cal schedule has been set since November. Like I said, check with Tim, he has all this information.
BTW, you said you wanted the touring players to attend your event. Again, the first step in setting ANY PDGA event in So Cal is to check with Tim. If Motherlode is not "protected", you can run the event on Mother's Day weekend. You want Pros only, no Ams, that could work out.

Your tone is nasty.I am not running my mouth, I am typing, to ask questions to the players, what they want.I will make my decision ,what I want to do.Last year ,I did go through Tim , and changed many dates, and still ended up on faltlines date. These dates work for riverside because of weather and tour dates for pros...This is a discussion board :o

Sorry for the tone Resse. You are the one coming on here complaining that you can't tell when the events are. So Cal dates through May are posted on our website. There are several So Cal events still working out weekends with Parks departments and each other, so not every free weekend is actually free. It is a team effort that Tim helps coordinate. He has ALL the information on Nor Cal, So Cal and Central Valley events. If you want a date for a PDGA event you need to check with Tim first.
While this message board is good for "discussing", it does little good if the dates you are discussing are not available. If you don't want to run a PDGA event, you can pick any weekend you want.
Don't go bad mouthing Tim and his efforts to make your Riverside event a reality last year. That will get you tons more attitude from me.
It is pretty tough not to schedule against a Nor Cal or CVS event. That is why Nor Cal and So cal each request "protected" dates each year. Like it or not, I believe Motherlode is a "protected" Nor Cal event which means Tim won't allow sanctioning of a PDGA event on that weekend. If it isn't protected, there shouldn't be a problem.
Again, you can "discuss" dates on here all you want, but you still need to discuss it with Tim first. I don't understand why you don't grasp this simple concept.
BTW, if you do host a sanctioned event, who will be your Certified Official?

Reese...
ALL PDGA events MUST be approved by the State Coordinator...
Just follow the "procedure" and you wont have any problems.
Tim knows the schedule.....
Sure its a "pain" with all the events that we have in the state of Cali....
BUT then again, that is supposed to be a good thing RIGHT...
By the way, when is that couse going in, in Oregon.
Im still looking for my venue for the "PDGA Match Play Championships" in '07 ;)
