Disc collectors are worse that weenies. They are worse than uberweenies, hyperweenies or even superweeenies.
They are MONSTER weenies.

I talked with him about this and the other discs hes been selling a few months back. I told him if he could get up to a grand for it, hed be decently lucky.. I think I offered $500 for it, ( on layaway, LOL. ) but only because it is 170g.
Id look for it to finish in the 800-1000$ ballpark.

Even if you have money to spend on whatever you want use some common sense! As an employee of the retail world you see thousands of people wasting their money on the stupidest of things. I really want to know how a piece of plastic can cost so much money.

as an employee of the retail world, you should be able to answer your own question.
Why did they sell out of Playstation 3's so quickly?
Supply and demand.

It Has nothing to do with supply and demand.
All it it is posterity and saying "Hay I got a 1000 dollar disc!!!111 HURRRRRR!!
All that really matters is that the seller got $1000 in one shot with out settling for payments (hopefully)
Supply and demand...Jeeze you sound like a DeBeers saleman. :D

The difference though between this Roc and a PS3 is the fact that a person will actually use the PS3 and get their money's worth.

even worse there is someone else claiming this is their auction and trying to collect funds for it...another ebay fraud that happens all the time..
if you don't win this disc from Mace..you are paying the wrong guy

Its funny that you people think that only one person would pay that much. Its not like these Ebay discs sell for high prices ONE TIME.
Most of them are on a cycle, they get bought, sat on, then re-sold for more money.
If you want to talk about something, talk about how much it will go for next time its relisted. Id be willing to bet anyone on here it will go for more next time its listed, and anyone sitting on another Red or even just an '01 should be shouting for joy. If a few versions ( ICE and Red ) can go for a 1000$, imagine how high the '01s are going to climb in the next few months. Ive been saying $300 for an unused good weight '01 is a solid deal. I predict by next Christmas that price will rise to between 4-500$. ( New, over 177g. )
Ive got one, so I could care less if Im wrong.

Jan 02 2007, 02:39 AM
I would assume that is a record for a '01 ROC..the Pluto Platter a few years back went for a whole lot more, but for modern day plastic, I would bet it is or very close.
$1,475.51 - insane
