One FINAL event of the 2006 season. Here you can earn PDGA points, contribute to your rating, and be a part of history.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 30th, 2006.

This is the first PDGA Sanctioned event being held at the brand new Dineen Disc Golf Course (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=2536) . Thanks to a local enthusiast, you can view some pictures of the Dineen course. (http://flickr.com/photos/evilmousse/sets/72157594364610686/)

Ideally I'd to set up the course in one of four ways. All short pins, all long pins, alternating short / long with holes 1-18, or alternating long / short 1-18. I'm not sure what is all doable just yet but I'll see what I can get done. (With regards to time and darkness we will most likely play all of the pins in the short placements both rounds. Trust me, it's still not a short course.)

Our blizzard dump from a few weeks back has now vanished. As of Dec 22nd the 10 day forecast shows no signs of any real snowfall or accumulation. That means we'll be playing on green (actually somewhat brown) grass! From my visit last week I can tell you its a little wet out there but you won't get tired from 4, 6, or 10 inches of snow because its all gone! I also plan to rake the tees when I go out to the park next week.

Like always, registration is available either online or via snail-mail. Online registration (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=131) is available. If you need my address just shoot me an e-mail or give me a call and I'll gladly provide it.

Pre-Registrants (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=6400) are listed. We hope to at least get to a field of 72. Please don't delay on getting in. The mild weather might have this fill up quicker than you would expect.

No offense , but Dineen look's like it is very beginner friendly. Kind of wide open. Hole 2 looks cool.

No offense taken.

Dineen is in fact the most forgiving of the 4 Am Worlds Courses. On some holes you can miss your 'line' but still be able to recover from the errant shot. However, in the same breath I'll say that there is more trouble out there than it appears. If you do hit a tree early on any given hole you may struggle to save par. This course is nice and will provide different challenges from the other 3 courses.

We'll see how scores shake out after the event on the 30th. With the pins in a mixed setting Barry Schultz shot a -4. That was just one round but I think it tells you something (even on an off day).

Others like to talk about what they shot out there in practice but until it's in an official event (like this upcoming weekend's) it doesn't really matter too much.

-4 for Barry, must be longer than it looks.
