I'm looking ahead towards the summer and a road trip to the Am Worlds. 15-yr-old son and I take an annual disc golf road trip, and this year it will be to Worlds and back.

I'm looking for recommendations of "do not miss" courses in between San Diego and Milwaukee (please, Oregon and Pennsylvania are not on that route). Part of the allure should be availability of local guides (if necessary) or friendly competition. We hope to have other travelers join us - the more the merrier (and cheaper per person at Motel 6, oops, Microtel).

Any ideas?

Pick a route! KC (intersection of I-35 & I-70 & I-29), Emporia, KS (I-35) and Des Moines (I-35) are worthy...

Des Moines looks like an obvious choice. I think our biggest question is which east-west route to take - I-40, I-70 or I-80 (or a combination).

If you take the I-40 route, make sure and stop in Amarillo, TX. It's a really good course and a nice break from the Plains Highways. Let me know ahead of time and I'll meet you out there for a round.

I think I-40 will be on the itinerary, either on the way there or back. I'll be in touch!!

Cool. PM me when you get closer to finalizing your plans and I'll get you some contact numbers. Last weekend of August is the Top of Texas Open.
