It has been brought to our attention that "duBBs" is actually Adam Weaks. Please be advised that a new policy has been put in place that PDGA Discussion Board user accounts are individual accounts. They are not to be shared with others or sold to others. PDGA members caught sharing or selling their Discussion Board user accounts risk having their posting privileges suspended or revoked, as well as a review before the Disciplinary Committee.

Paypal has not been set up on the web yet. MY apologies for that - I don't have a clue how to do it and the people that do it are really busy with the hollidays.
For now, people can mail me check for registration.
As for canned foods, the people at the NC Food Bank have told us they prefer money. Basically if you get a can of food for a dollar, the people at the food bank can get a lot more than one can of food for the same dollar. For this reason, we have always just donated cash for the event.

There's only one hole on the course that's tough to get with an aviar (challenger for real throwers) and that's 14. I have gotten it with a challenger but only once.
41 is pretty easy out there with just one challenger :)
Will you be able to tee from either the left or right side of the tee box at this event?

I will make that call the morning of. If it is not wet, then no, I see no reason why we would need to do that.
However, I know that the pads are slick when they are wet and if that is the case, I may allow it.
I'm a big advocate of consistency within events, but safety is even more important.

Carter is in the process of fixing them.
This is something he has done on his own and man does it make things better!
Wet or not, some of those tees are just begging for a turning ankle. Some are fixed, some are not. While I applaud the efforts of people correcting these, some are just plain dangerous. Some are even worse for a lefty that appoaches a pad from say a "different angle". I'm not #$*&$! at all, just wanted to know what the call was.

In the many rounds I played there i came down on the teepads with my planting foot right in those slots a couple dozen times and not only does that hurt, it turns an ankle pretty quick too. Sure you don't need power on most of those but on the ones where a little run up in necessary, those slots make it horrible. Of course if I just throw lefty there's no issue. :)

I am def. considering it. I would like to hear some honest opinions.
Here is my thoughts both ways.
Reasons to play from the sides:
- The tees def. have some slip problems.
- The holes in the tees add to some problems
- Safety
Reasons to tee from the tees
- Simplicity - "tee from the teepads"
- Consistency - everyone tees from the same area
I am considering marking a teeing area that would include something like this (pardon the weak drawing below)
1____TEE______1
The 1 = a flag
The word TEE = the actual tee pad
The ___ = the area between the flag and tee
Opinions?

Whatever you decide will be supported by me. The TD makes those decisions, and is called a DECIDER. My view though, I took a fall at Chapel Hill, and the great guy's I played with as most all are, were so concerned about my form on falling, not one seen, observed, had knowledgeof, or even heard from all the noise where the disc went. They were very concerned about my welfare, great bunch of guys, really. I told them it felt good (the release) not the fall, and there it was, 10 inches behind the basket. The fall could have significant. The pads at Kentwood, are very scary to this 6 ft 1" 300 lb good looking dude. Whatever the decider decides I will do. Thank God for deciders that volunteer

Jan 08 2007, 07:53 PM
I played over 200 rnds at Kentwood in '06. 10 of the most problematic tees have been resurfaced. Holes like 6,16, and 17 are short enough the tee wouldn't be deemed "dangerous" unless they were covered with ice. So that leaves 5 holes to "Worry" about.
Robert all last year it was perfectly acceptable to tee next to the pads if someone didn't feel comfortable on them during Doubles and Monthlies. Why are you making a stand that this is no longer acceptable or that you even need to "Make the call"? Is a 12 ft. wide tee area Taboo?
To make all of us tee from behind the tee box is ignorant, I assure you there is more danger in the mud, or uneven rocky terrain, than on the tee pads, and if you don't agree tee from the side. Seems simple to me
Joseph

Once again, my comments are read incorrectly.
I have not posted either way my decision, I asked for opinions. Thanks for yours. I see you as one of the most important deciding factors in my decision as no one knows the course better than you in the area.
I know it sounds so simple - "just do what you want" but there is issues with consistency.
From what I have been reading, it seems the overall desire is to throw from the sides or whatever you feel confortable doing.
If I decide to do this, it will be cleary marked where is it acceptable to tee from.
I am strongly leaning towards one way, but until I make my mind up, I will not post my decision.
Please continue to post opinions on the matter. It is really helping.

Well, the problem with a lot of those holes plank is that they are not in the style of the course.
I have never understood why a full tournament would be played on a "dinker" style course then the final 9 on a boomer course. You should stay with same style in a final 9.
All the holes I did are birdieable and still stay in the same idea of the course.

A safari hole is a made up hole basically. Like in sanford, imagine teeing from 11 and playing to 12's basket. That would be a safari hole.

The final list of pre-registrations is now posted.
Anyone who wishes to play in the event may sign up in the morning at Kentwood.
The tournament limit is 90 and I highly doubt we will come close to that.
I will be at the course before 8 to get set up for a great day!
