On behalf of our good Finnish friends, new plastic from Europe...

Is it me...or does the MD1 look kind of Element'ish?

That's what I thought, a Roc or Coyote. I hope mine arrive today.

I talked quite a bit with the Fins at USDGC. They were very excited about this company getting going. I was told these discs were going to be produced by Innova (sort of like Millennium). Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? I would love to be able to give these a throw.

After a little looking around, these discs are Star and dx plastics. Cool to see Innova supporting other companies. European golf is definitely making big time steps. It is awesome to see.

I just got an email from discgolfvalues.com and they're carrying Discmania now. I doubt Mark would carry them if they weren't affiliated with/endorsed by Innova...

That's exactly what I said on the dgr forums. Scooter is right though; it's got more roc like turn and fade (well, probably less fade out of the box). I think it's kinda cool (and reputable) that they're starting with a mid before jumping to some ultra high speed driver.

I just got message from Mark that these are like the Ontario Roc with a faster flight.

Sounds like a sick midrange. The Ontario mold is my favorite Roc mold. A faster one could be money.

Can anyone say if these have a bead or not? Can't tell exactly from the pics on the Discmania site.

YEs it has somewhat of an integrated bead. Nice disc, the profile looks like something inbetween a Rancho Roc and Element X ?
Will be interresting to try them out!

If it's really like an Ontario Roc in Star plastic and available year round at $10 less, wonder how sales of next years USDGC Roc's will go.

I don't think they will be affected. I just got my MD1s in today, and they are not as similar to a Roc as I thought. I think they are made from the old DGA Pro mold (says "Ontario") on the back.
More domey and really doesn't have a bead in the traditional sense. I haven't thrown it yet, but it has to be less stable than a Roc...probably goes very straight, kinda like a Buzz???
More when I actually throw one!!!

I recieved one from Mark last weekend and have been throwing it a lot for the last 3 days. It is pretty overstable, about as much as a new 11x roc would be. Nice overstable mid in star plastic, it will last longer than an 11x roc in durability. Can't say that it's faster or slower, but I don't really care about the speed of a midrange disc as long as it gets to where I want it to. The mold is evidently partially an Ontario rock, the imprint on the bottom says Ontario, and it is definitely not a straight flyer like a buzz or beat roc.
Definitely like the plastic, and it flies quite nicely as well.
In regards to altering the prices of the USDGC rocs, that's not going to happen, ppl spend outlandish amounts of $$ on those because it says "Roc" on it, not because of how it flies. The roc is a novelty collector disc in the champion plastic. If you are looking for an overstable mid that flies like a 11x but doesn't beat in as fast and doesn't cost $40+, then I would suggest giving the MD1 a try.

OK, just got back from DeLa a couple of hours ago. Threw the MD1-S a bunch on the fairway to hole #23 as it was getting dark.
It is more overstable than I initially thought it might be. A bit more stable than most Buzzes I have thrown. Definitely wants to turn left somewhat as it finishes (RHBH). Very easy to throw. Good glide. Stiff plastic. Not sure if it is the exactly the same as production Star plastic or not.
I think the comparison to a Roc is not too far off. I think the MD1 is perhaps just a little faster and a little less overstable than the 2006 USDGC Special Blend Roc I have been throwing. To me, it is kinda like a slower DGA Squall?
I'm gonna replace that SB Roc with the MD1 in some actual golf rounds, and see what happens. I think the MD1 may be a little easier to throw, and a little more accurate for me than the SB Roc. Mostly because the bead is much less pronounced.
I think a lot of folks are gonna like this disc! :D

one of the best characteristics about this disc is that, if you put it on slight angle, it holds the anhyzer without flipping over and without a massive fade to the left (RHBH) in the end -
