Not just discs anymore (http://www.aerobie.com/Products/aeropress.htm)

So is this really the world's richest, smoothest brew?

I guess the obvious question here is: what would prompt the manufacturer of the world's longest thrown object to make a coffee/espresso press?

Probably the fact that they decided to change direction after their EPIC disaster a few years ago.

obvious post by someone who has never thrown an epic thumber into a 20 mile an hour right to left head wind, these disc will barrel roll as they climb up and forward then plane out nicely finishing stable 350- 450 ft away. extreamly dependable in that kind of conditions.

I'm actually starting to enjoy throwing the epic. I can count on it to hyzer-flip quickly and without effort through tunnels and still get a lot of low-speed fade at the end. I was experimenting with it this past week and it really isn't that bad, its too bad it is uncomfortable in the hand.

Karl Molitaris, who plays all along the east coast, throws Epics and Arrows pretty much exclusively. He has the most wicked thumber/tomahawk you've ever seen. (He also throws javelin competitively, so they might be related...)
Anyway, Karl regularly meets with Alan Adler, the head guy at Aerobie, and is always trying to talk him into making more discs, or at least making Epics and Arrows in some different colors. Karl questioned why he was making coffee makers now, and Adler responded with "How many people in the world play disc golf? Now how many people in the world drink coffee?" I guess the guy's spent most of his life designing flying rings and crazy discs, and, as he's getting older, decided that maybe he could make some good money...

The coffee maker is shorter than the Epic, but just about as good a putter as the Arrow. Rolls a little more than an Arrow for me. :p
