UpDog, did UC say anything about replacing the broken tee pad on 16? (old #15)
No but I'll ask him. Is it cracked or what? It must have happened recently--I havent seen it.

Also, I will contribute $100 towards replacing the basket on old 15. Any others in on that?
According the Larry V (at the LODGA party) club funds where to be used to replace that basket and 17. Then they should have had left like $600 left over to buy leftover LOSO discs from Kieth for the AM payout at the minis in 2008. What's the status on that?

Has anyone talked to Larry? I don't know his number or I'd call him to find out.

I think larry moved to Midland so he is out of the picture. Big Bird is the guy to talk to. The crack hole, old #13 needs to be replaced too, so if we get one more c-note we can replace that one too. It's the one evil trolls rolled the concrete tube over.

Once we get some clubs funds going and have some extras to spend for UC. I would vote yes to help purchase new baskets....one hole at a time. I think you mentioned at one time about starting a Basket Fund? I am going to mention it at McClains mini tomorrow and maybe start putting a jar out for donations. Maybe do the same at the UC Mini. How does that sound?

You could start by not posting things like this until you know the curcumstances of the situation:

Okay, I showed up for the UC Mini this morning and when I pulled up there was 1 other person there ready to play. There ended up being a total of 5 people and 0 TD's. I woke up early and drove over 20 miles to play the mini and to have a chance at that $300 Ace Pot (somewhere around there). There is always going to be someone showing up for the mini's no matter how bad the weather is. If you cannot be responsible enough to go out there every Sunday and run them then maybe you should give it to someone else. Or if you are not going to make it out, PLEASE post it on the message board or call someone who can post it for you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that makes it 2 weeks in a row that the TD has not shown up. Who is supposed to be running the UC Minis? Does anyone have their contact info so someone can call them? How are we supposed to do payout without the table? We need to do something about this very soon. Thanks to Phil M. for stepping up and running it.
If you are not part of the solvtion then your part of the problem. :DI heard that from a wiseman once oops nevermind it was me who said it :o:D

I'll take a back seat to you 2 established established members, but I'll help wherever and however I can. My offer from a few months back still stands. I've just made an offer on this thread to take over the web site from Brian as well if no one objects.
This commitment comes straight from the heart, I belong to LODGA and SADC and there is NOTHING that I wouldn't do for one club that I would not be willing to do for the other.

If the sun. tds can't or won't run the minis anymore, I will volunteer to take over. If anyone knows how to get in touch with them please let me know. We need to get the ace pot money. If someone else wants to run this mini thats fine,we just need someone who's going to be there, be it me or someone else.

Watch for announcements soon about a LODGA club meeting. We cant announce it yet because we have not finalized the place and date. In fact the charter itself is not yet complete. We are looking at January 5th. Again this is tentative.
Club Members will have the opportunity to vote on whether to adopt a charter, and assuming the charter is adopted, on officers for 2008.
Nobody needs to panic. This is going to be a good thing.

just a ? since there are no dues to this point what would constitute a member? I am assuming mini participants will be grandfathered in until other wise indicated?

Thanks for the update Brian. Glad to see things are moving forward.
Now when are we going to get that McClain vs. Live Oak match for Texas Teams players going. I still think that would be a blast!

Brian, Laura, et al, thanks for stepping up to make LODGA an organized club. It was not something I wanted to tackle, and it is not an easy task to get consensus, so my hat is off to you!
It sounds like you took it upon yourselves to put together a proposed charter so that when you have the big meeting, all potential club members will have something to look at, chew on, and argue over. That is usually the way things work, a few take the bull by the horns, and then everyone gets a say in the end. Sort of how the U.S. Constitution was ratified. It was just a few dedicated individuals who put forth a proposed constitution, and the representatives then went over it line by line till everyone could stomach it.
Good job!!

Just to add a comment: I am not smart enough to make up a charter on my own. Fortunately, others are. We copied them.
We studied charters from several established clubs and took what we considered to be the best elements.
The goal is to get it into everyone's hands by the end of the holidays, so that members have a chance to read it before the meeting.
Then if the members approve it, we will nominate candidates for office and hold elections.

Hey Live Oak -
I'm in London right now, just popped in to say hello. Haven't had a chance to play any euro-golf yet, but I'll have pictures of when I do. Good Luck with LODGA and LOSO, and tell those Spurs to WAKE UP!!
