All out of town competitors for the Hippodrome tournament are also invited to stay overnight to visit the International Disc Golf Center on Sunday for a round on the newly opened Steady Ed Headrick Memorial Disc Golf Course. The IDGC headquarters building is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in a month.
This is a great opportunity for everyone to play the most challenging and popular course from this years Pro Worlds and to also get a sneak peak at the IDGC before the grand opening at the Hall of Fame Classic NT/SuperTour Event in April 2007.

Is there still a Still Stuffed tourney this year and is Batman running it?
briangraham
Nov 22 2006, 10:07 AM
Brent,
Still Stuffed is a non-sanctioned event this year and is this Saturday (11/25/06). The event is being run by Batman but the location was changed due to construction at Patriots Park. Round 1 will be at Lake Olmstead at 10:00am followed by lunch and round 2 at Riverview Park. Entry fees are $30 for all pro divisions, $20 advanced and $10 for intermediate and recreational divisions.

brian...for the anal retentive in me ..can you please describe where the other 9 "holes" are going to be for the 27 hole layout so i can prepare mentally?
i can only figure out in my head about 6 places where holes could be added by shortening some shots..
looking forward to playing it at 100% since the last time i was injured...
thanks in advance and i'll see you in 11 days

not with the string
i see that hole cut into 3 holes
hole 3 into 2 holes
hole 9 into 2 holes
maybe 14 into 2 holes
maybe 15 into 2 holes(although i hope not!)
still can't picture 9
are you coming down robert...
it would be good to see you again and challenge you while i'm healthy!

my guess is, a lot of holes will be broken into 2. Like hole 3, perhaps 4, 8, 9, 14, 15, 18 (into 3!), and then an extra between 18 and 1. Am I close?

I've only had the opportunity to preview the new 27-hole blue layout once and the baskets were not in, but this is what I remember:
Several holes have been shortened to blue level distances. Others were divided into multiple holes and quite a few new holes were created. Two new short wooded holes were carved out of the woods between hole 3 and hole 15. The fairways were covered in wood chips and they look very nice. Old hole 5 (zig-zag) is now two holes. Yes..you guessed it....Zig and Zag. A handful of new short holes were also created in the pine forest part of the course in and around the small canyon. These holes remind me of the short tight holes at Chapin. Hole 18 (now hole 27) was shortened to 870'. The O.B string was removed on a lot of holes but was left intact on hole 18.
This blue level course is still under development and was designed by Pete May for the Collegiate National Championships that will debut in April 2007. I'll try to post a map of the layout soon.
Our plan for the tournament in two weeks is one round on the Blue course followed by one round on the original Gold course. Pete will use the data from this event to make adjustments to the course for the Collegiate championships.
We hope to see all of our friends at the event and we invite you to also visit the IDGC on Sunday to see the progress of the new headquarters building and to play the Headrick Memorial North Course.

There are still plenty of spots available for the PDGA sanctioned C-Tier event this Saturday, Dec. 16th, at the Hippodrome in North Augusta, SC. The course will be set up and open for practice rounds all day Friday.
Round 1 will be 27 holes on the Blue course and round 2 will be 18 holes on the original Gold course used in this years Pro Worlds.
See my initial post above for tournament information and a map to the course.

better start early. 45 holes on the shortest weekend day of the year is going to be tough. Let alone 45 holes on one of the hardest longest courses spread out over a large plot of land.

You're right Matt! We anticipated the short day and took it into account when we made the schedule, thus the 9:00am start instead of our traditional 10:00am start. We also plan on playing 3-somes in the first round on the 27 hole layout, which should help speed things up.

What rope will laid down for OB? Will be as marked on the maps?
briangraham
Dec 11 2006, 02:41 PM
Dave,
The OB rope will be exactly as shown by the red dotted lines on the map above. OB rope was removed from the right side of hole 1 and the left side of hole 10 since Worlds. Although it is not shown, there is OB rope on both sides of the fairway and behind the basket on hole 20.
We will have maps showing all OB for all competitors.
