I have been patiently waiting to get my hands on one of these. I'm reserving a spot in my bag for it. I throw Teebirds, and the Star plastic did wonders for the disc. I sold all of my Champion Ts because they suck big time compared to the Star version. I have thrown all versions of the JLS, and like the Champion T, the current QJLS is slow and awkward. I anticipate that this great mold will come back to life in Sirius plastic, and break in to the best slow turner on the market. I can't wait!
I have been throwing the SOLS and SOLF both and find them to be far more versatile for all shots and speeds than any other distance drivers. The names of these discs are very confusing though, and each time someone asks me what I just threw I have to go into a 5 min explaination before they understand all this Orion L-whatever nonsense. My local retailer almost did not order the Sirius OLF becuase she thought it was the same thing as the old Polaris LF.

I as well want to try out the SJLS. Discspeed's right, the QJ was alittle too slow in flight no matter how hard it was thrown, it seemed to peak out around midrange distance for me. From what I understand, the sirius plastic solidifies the molds and give alot more speed.
Anyone know some good sites to get some sirius plastic?

Sunking has got everything except the SJLS, but I don't know if they are even available yet. I noticed in an ad in DGWN that they were supposed to be out at "the end of September". By the way Mark, at doubles last night I drew Carrie Berlogar as my partner. Unfortunately, the Champ drew a local pro, so we didn't have a great shot from the start. We had fun though. I'm going out to Cliff later hoping to catch up with some of the other traveling superpros here for Mocassin Lake.

I got my SJLS finally. I bought it right before a tournament, put it in its place in my bag, and parked a hole with the first round I played. I had failed to birdie that hole all last weekend at the AM tourney at the same course. Sweet disc, it is everything I hoped it would be.
First and foremost, this is the best plastic I have ever felt. My disc is a white 175g, but all the different colors and weights felt the same as far as rigidity, grippiness, and dome. I am partial to my white SOLS, so I went for white in the SJLS. The plastic is very stiff for Star/Sirius, but also VERY tacky. The dome is well pronounced, but slopes gradually to the Millenium cirle of text on top of the disc where it is flat across the very top. The dome is stiff and does not collapse at all in your hand when you grip it hard. They feel a lot like the Star Leopards, but aren't that domey.
Flight-wise this disc is true stable. My first rip was across water on a 340' hole that is more or less wide open. I threw the SJLS flat and with a good snap and it soared cleanly out of my hand, turning out ever so slightly before coming back slightly and finishing a slight bit left, running the basket and ending up 40' past the hole. Basically it flies like a broken in Star TB, only straighter. I can't wait to learn the break in of this disc. Thanks Millenium! If I had to throw one line of discs, it would be Millenium for sure!

Flight wise, would you see the SJLS as a shorter SOLF or a shorter SOLS.
I bought mine Saturday and threw it several times Sunday. To me it had the turn and flip of my SOLS but at about 10% shorter distance. Best throw of the day can be described like yours but in a totally different place. Tight 310' fairway (average distance across would be about 25' to 30'). Nice clean firm snap down the left hand side (not too close)...sliding across the fairway to the other tree line before turning back and landing in the middle of the fairway about 20' short of where my SOLS would normally land.
Nice.

It is like a slower SOLS. This is nice because it flips and comes back slower for a tighter flight path. The mold is like a TB without the flat part at the end of the wing. It is still concave, the wing is just a bit narrower. Sort of like a TB, Leopard, TL hybrid. It glides like a driver on midrange type flight lines.

The SOLS has turned into my "go-to" distance driver, is almost completely replacing my Star SL. Really like that disc! Easy to throw far with very good accuracy. Kinda flies like a longer TL.
