Some drunk crapnuggets have a suuuper hawt chick with them, and three sheets to boot... and after I was trying to be cool about using the tracks to cross the creek, when we get on the other side, one of them is throwing a big cement footpad in the water. I tell them not to do it, that other side is slippery and we need the blocks there. Don't throw them in the water. That's it.
So one or two wouldn't STFU yelling 'YEAH, YOU TELL HIM, WHAT A [censored]! YOU SHOULD KICK HIS [censored]! MAN, WHAT THE [censored] DUDE, DON'T THROW [censored] IN THE WATER! KICK HIS [censored]!'
This is all onthe oyther side of the cxreek mind you. So I get a bit heated and flap some myself, just goofing on them a little loudly, and that was it. For then.
While we're fixing to tee off on 18, I noticed they had huddled on 17's box. A few seconds later, the same dumbanus is running down 17's fairway w/ a wood stool. Into the water it goes. A little more flapping, not much. AFter all, we're near them.
We cross 18, and sure enough they get loud again. Called me a Richard. I said suck my ballsockets.
Looked like regs, and they have no problem causing a problem.
There shall be none of that out there..... I would like to meet these people ! And introduce their backside to my boot !

As funny as it sounds it is a serious problem. They will come out again, and will be worse next time.
On the lighter side, while they were on 15 and 'putting out' (relative term), one blew his 15 footer, and strongarmed an overhand at the basket. Blew it up and out the back... it hits the ground heading for the creek. A collective...NOOO!!! from them all as they scurry after it. It goes down the trail, and the first guy ends up on his keyster as soon as he hits the decline. Second guy - same result. It makes it to the water... how do I know? An even louder NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!1!1!one!!!1! follows. I almost made a run for their beer cooler near the bucket but one guy was till up top near it.
But it was nice seeing two of the guys take a spill.
it's a bummer that sort of thing happened.
but you are correct. it will always be a problem.
no good way to handle those kind of things.
i would like to renominate the idea of "bagbats" next year.
but seriously, what do we do to keep that sort of thing from happening?

The good times with Mace, 'Tang, and Bishop truly out weighed the bad golf, and reminded me why i love this game.
Two quick points of interest. 1.) I can't remember the last time i missed the money in a mini....before today , and 2.) The tournament player(s) who told Brice that they don't know where his disc is....and then was busted carrying it in his bag several holes later should NOT BE WELCOME at local minis! That is F'ed up.

Greetings,
Hope all of you are well. The time for an FFC meeting is upon us . More important , the time for some good times is upon us . The Board of Directors wish to invite all members to a little gathering on Thursday April 26th. This will be an opportunity for members to come face to face with each other, and have a little fun along the way. This will also give us the opportunity to put a little money into the club funds.
What I am proposing .....
ACE RACE : TRINITY PARK
BE THERE 6:30 P.M. TO GET THINGS A' ROCKIN
The way this will all go down is very simple .
I will need either 6 or 9 temp baskets, I can provide 1 , I am sure many others can do the same . I will set up a temporary course in trinity park ( directions to follow ) , very short in stature , and very fun to play . Those in attendance will have the opportunity to not only pay out on EVERY ACE HIT , but also, the race winner will be the first official tee sign sponsor of the new course .
The cost will be 6 dollars.
2 dollars for the sign sponsorship
4 dollars to the payout
There will be 18 chances to get paid. If a basket is used more than once , there will be a different line on each tee shot . The most aces wins the right to the first tee sign sponsorship. Prior to the ace race, there will be a little meet and greet for all the members , and a brief yet informative meeting .. 6:30 will be the latest we can start the meeting , and that should be adequate time to make it to downtown..
Please reply if you have any questions . Looking forward to seeing all of you. Also, please feel free to bring whomever you wish. This is all about good times, for a good cause. And who knows, we may sign up a new member or two...
Good day to you all,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok guys, it is on !!!
Funkytown Flyers Club meeting .
This Thursday, the 26th of April
Trinity park , 7th street entrance , @ the pavillion on the 1st parking lot . The pavillion is adjactent to the duck pond.
We will meet for a brief meeting , to go over the actions of the B.O.D. , and the work we have been doing since we met last . Go over some new topics , and most important , get the club together for some fun.
The ace race is simple ... I have set up 9 holes which we will all play twice. All are very aceable . All are very fun. This will not be like anything you have played before. It will be a nice blend of natural and " urban " obstacles , with some interesting lines through some interesting spaces .
The entry is 6 dollars , 4 to pay out , 2 to a tee sign sponsorship which will be awarded to the winner .
The meeting will start @ 6:30 sharp, the ace race will be soon to follow .
All that plan on attending , and consuming alcoholic beverages , prepare to abide by the laws currently enforced by the good folks down @ Ft Worth P.D.
Any questions , please call me ....
This meeting is not only for club members, bring anybody that wants to have a good time . Perhaps some that will be interested in purchasing a bag tag or a club membership..
I PROMISE THIS WILL BE FUN.. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE .
If I were a regular at this course, I would stay out of local parking for a while . I would also make sure that all my litter found it's way to a garbage can. There is going to be an increased police presence at z-boaz untill our little issue with the illegal dumping and excessive litter are under control. So all you " thirsty " golfers out there, I would keep an eye out for people keeping an eye on you. Consider this a warning. We have proven that the garbage issue is too much for us , so onward come the 5.0

the parking lot is to small for that, the city needs to blacktop the whole area.
So if anyone parks on the dirt via jumping the curb and the police come by
they will issue tickets for parking in a no parking zone?

It's unusual to see the city taking an interest in the Z from a POLICE standpoint after all these years.
It's unusual to see the city taking an interest in the Z from a POLICE standpoint after all these years.
Well, this is not exactly what I was hoping for. I was there under the impression that the parks and rec dept. wanted to propose solutions to the issue , such as a pole and cable system to prevent off road useage. But this is what it has evolved into. But , overall it should help.
Rizzo
Apr 25 2007, 03:17 PM
It will help make it difficult to get to the trash cans on holes 3 through 9 as well as 11 through 13. I don't mind walking 15 though 18 to get the trash (no choice here) Will just let the city or those Community Service VOLS pickup the whole dang course. Politics just @#$%^&* ^%&#%$^ S!!!X
Fortunately, a police officer just happened to drop in on our little meeting . He was telling me , that unless a concerned citizen call's the police to report off road useage, they are not going to make an effort to stop it .
If ever you were confronted by an officer, I am sure the bed full of trash cans, and the vomit stain on your shirt from emptying them should be enought for him to let you go .
The officer told me that they will issue warnings prior to citations. But if you show your arse, I am sure they are more than willing to break out the citation book.
I made this post this morning , in hopes of keeping our locals informed . This will in no way affect the course.

If I were approached with a bed full of beer cans/bottles I might not get chargged for offroading but I might for breaking the open container law in a vehicle 1500 counts at$150 each, lol

The timing on this could not be worse. With the recent attention brought to the park via our little garbage problem, now this...... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...
Local parking has to be shut down for good. I enjoy it as much as anybody, but I would rather loose the parking , than lose the whole park. The city expressed to us that they would have no reservations pulling those baskets . That is real!!!
I am almost 100% that the city has old telephone poles we could use , and there are more than enough of us to make it happen. All it would take is 8 hours rental of an auger , and a couple of chainsaws.. We could schwing that ... Could'nt we ???

I am almost 100% that the city has old telephone poles we could use , and there are more than enough of us to make it happen. All it would take is 8 hours rental of an auger , and a couple of chainsaws.. We could schwing that ... Could'nt we ???
I don't know if that will stop something small like a golf cart. To go that small, you're really talking about alot of holes, no? And can we even do something like that there?
I know no one wants a conflict, but if those kids were caught, the police could have been called and they could have been pinched for destruction of private property, whatever... and yeah, I understand the 'nature' of the reason cops were not called, but for fuhck's sake, I'm sick and tired of idiots breaking our ***** and getting off scott free.

Well this incident has nothing to do with local parking and is a stupid act of vandals. And as far as parking goes it is legal to park there, it was and always has been. If you think back to the NO MOTORIZED VEHICLE SIGN we all hit with our disc throwing to 9's bucket; desinated where we can or can not park. That area was inteaded for overflow parking hence the gate. However the upkeep of the trash is under brian's contractual agreement with the city and this being said this agreement is not being met and this is were the conflict has arisen. Not being in compliance has forced people to look more closely at what is going on and is Brian in compliance to his contract. We can all biotch, wine, and complain, but it aint going to do a darn thing. Get out make a difference, give 15-30 minutes of your golfing time before each and every round and do trash if you are worried about your course. If you don't like doing trash, then go cry somewhere else because I aint hearing it. If you don't like that idea, take a day off from disc golf and DO TRASH! You owe it to your course and to blame our problems solely on local parking is crazy

does anyone have access to the key for the gate? if all is shut down to "trash trucks" then the problem of trash is going to quickly escalate MORE out of control. i also agree with wootie woo about local parking. the sign for no motorized vehicles clearly stated where we could park.

there are a thousand times more casuals than there are registeres PDGA members. what we need is awareness by casuals. like i keep saying you can pick up all the trash you want but it is like putting a band aid on a bullet wound. there is no authority presence on our course. where are the signs and where are the park rules. causals think their tax dollars keep that place maintained. They see the city mow it so they aSSume the city must maintain all of the park. we should pull trash cans and post no alcohol signs and fence in the concrete parking lot. and we should keep it that way until we feel comfortable people have a idea of how to handle themselves out there. I know it seems extreme, but you people are in denial if you don't think the problem out there is extreme. if we want to get rid of the riff-raff we are going to have to crack down and there are betters ways to do this than having fifteen people trying to pick up after ten thousand people a month.

We can put up those metal fence post that you can drive in the ground and maybe a couple of low strands of barbed wire to keep folks from driving out there. WE DO NEED to remove the cans! NO ALCOHOL - NO LITTERING - NO EXCEPTION! Signs posted on the way to hole one and hole 10. LET'S get a regular scheduled trash rotation going before the mini's.

the only reason i ever move 18 is that there are so few holes that can be moved, and it is one of them. for those of you who have forgotten what can be moved (with a gigantic ace pot) here they are again: 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18

We all know there are pin positions that are ever used. Why did we waist money and time to install these options to never be used? Until we take down the CURSE nothing will change. You really need to step away from the innarweb. That means stop bleating over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and...
See what I'm getting at? It's the same thing. With #1 you obviously have a mastery of the Z itself, so why complain? Oh, that's right, you can't help yourself from flapping to no end in the nice, cozy confines of your living room. Goose moved one ace bucket. He didn't move all acerun buckets. Just one. ONE. UNO. A single, solitary bucket.
"Well who told him to"

But here's the big thing:
WHY IN THE HOLY NAME OF GOD ARE YOU COMPLAINING AT ALL CONSIDERING YOU DON'T SHOW UP FOR MINIS? WHYWHYWHYWHYWHY?

This all boils down to a conflict of interest.
People want baskets moved for variety. When certain baskets get moved ( hole 11 in the middle for example ) there will be recourse from the " Project manager " . So we must weigh our options . Move baskets and possibly give away the ace, or play the same old course we are used to . What a conundrum....
I am all for somebody taking home that ace money ( me ) , but I have a funny feeling that if something like 11 in the middle got hit , there would be questions like " who the hell moved the basket to the easy ace position " or something of the sort, similar to the reason we dont play the short tee on 18 . INPUT ????

If the ace gets hit than that is great. all i care about is getting some variety. there are pin placements at the course that haven't changed in years. i realize that some of the collars need work but that is nothing a work day couldn't change.I bet if you move the course all short and put out the word, people would show up in mass to the mini.

You, sir, are bang on. It seems the majority of us Z types want the same thing. Unfortunately, we aren't the ones who declare what certain baskets can be moved, and I have yet to hear one single solitary person say anything remotely close to 'I like it harder this way, more challenge to ace'. It's unfortunate that Goose bears the brunt of the flappery that takes place, and that is what I take the most umbrage with. Lay off of Goose, period.
It's hard to talk to the people in charge what they are far to busy with their own issues; we all have to make a living, but the grumblings are starting to take almost a physical form. The boulder is rolling, and nothing is going to keep it from hitting the bottom of the mountain. Public opinion has to count for something, doesn't it? I'm constantly told it's our course...

We have a Ft Worth club. Not a Z-Boaz club. All the decision's made regarding the Z fall into the hands of the "PROJECT MANAGER "..

I just dont understand this.....If you have multiple pin placements, why not use them? Why have them, if they are never used? WHy spend the money on sleves for other pin placements if you arent going to use them?
THe ace pot means nothing to me, I just dont understand why you wouldnt take advantage of having multiple pin placements?
I did not direct any of my comments to goose they were directed at the PM. I don't think that anybody else was either.

Seems to be the issue @ hand. It would be nice for the ace to hit, and we could set up the EZ-Z format for a mini or two... We really need to work on 14 and 15 . It would be nice to see those move.
[/QUOTE]
the only prob with #14 and #15 that im aware of is the lack of a key that fits in the f'n locks. i have a 36" set of bolt cutters that would make short work of said locks, we just need more to put back on. preferably ones that match the other 17. it has been at least a year and a half since these moved. #7 has piedras or some schit jammed in it. #8 is so tight in the sleeve that you would think it was welded.
i have to admit that when we had those 3 weeks this winter of no minis, it was fun runnin at 1, 5, 6, 9, 11, 13 in the easy placements. #11 in the middle will make yer mouth watre!

I'd also like to point out that someone picked up a bagtag that were not supposed to. Ben Reynolds donated his to the poor guy who was left with nadda. It's pretty much my fault, considering I took tags and handed em out after the scores, and we WILL be taking names along with tags inthe future to avoid further douchebaggery.
And no one gets a tag until they're all acounted for and sorted. If you need to leave early etc., tough titty. A few more minutes isn't going to make a difference.

Man, I've seen some chicken$hit ways to dodge losing your bag tag- leaving it in a car, house, etc., but blowing out your cankle? That's just pathetic.
p.s. do not wrap your ankle too tight- you will get more purple swelling and it will take longer to heal. Take it from a man with absolutely no ligaments left in his ankles.
