Regarding the Travelers: they are nice baskets, great for practice. How about switching your ace fund to $1 for the "ace/basket fund". If the ace gets hit before you reach $125, your bets got hedged. But if it goes over $125, you've more than made the retail price and the money can be donated that is over the cost to you of the basket. And someone will have a memorable prize for that ace that can't be turned into cases of beer for your friends...

If the money reaches $125, then have a CTP to win the basket. Just let people know that the ace pool is reaching it's limit, so they better be at league to get a CTP shot.

That is a good idea.

But that's why I put them up here on the board for sale. Players in clubs and events that have huge turnouts could make a ton of money by offering these up for $1 basket pool, CTP/ace contest, or raffles. We don't hold big events out here - thus we cannot make that much money on them (at $5 a raffle ticket, we'd have to have a turnout of 40 for our small ace races and informal events, assuming half buy tickets). And if we sold $1 ace pool tickets for a chance at the basket during leagues, it would take us more than a year to get enough players to raise $125. Then, of the 5 consistent players I get to come to leagues (6 with me) we'd all have $20 of our own money into a $125 basket. And 4 of us 6 leaguers are major contributing club members, so that's like pulling money from one pocket just to pay the other.

In other words, despite the possibility to raise a lot of money using these as prizes, we are a small club. We can sit on these until we have some larger events, or we can sell them now toward permanent baskets, signs, and stamped discs.
