Have anyone tried the Cyclops?
How is compared to other large diameter drives, for example a Jaguar or a Scorpion?

This disc is still in the developmental stage.
It is a 2 piece disc similar to the odyssey line, but not clear in the middle. The middle section goes all the way to the wing and is actually part of the wing.
It has an Illusion style wing that is just as long and a little puffy. The flight plate is only about .025 thick (compared to .070 of a normal driver).
It is REALLY Gyroscopic and can fly far at low speeds without falling off.
The concept is awesome and once it is fully developed will be a great discs for new players.

I threw a prototype this summer. Excellent understable disc for beginners, some of the kids that threw it around really straightened it out nicely (though a few 12-13 year olds overpowered it after they got used to it). It is a fun disc to just fool around with as well, throwing super-hyzerflips and insane spike anhyzers.
Gateway and Quest are doing a great job creating discs for kids, I think its something that will really enhance the sport should they find a way to work with local schools that have baskets!

Thanx, how would you rate its understability? Can you compare to another udnerstable disc?
Sounds to me like this is what the Optimizer should have been. :o

Well, I don' know... I don't typically throw discs that are that understable. It seems to be ideally an ultrabeginners disc, to the point that 10-11 year olds can get a lil bit of hyzer-flip with a backhand. Its really great for the purpose of teaching kids, like I said... but its not like it'll make it into my bag for regular play, y'know?

Even though the CYclops is understable, it can still be thrown 400 feet given enough height and proper speed and angle of release. The domier ones are not as understable.
3 months ago, Nikko and I were literally playing catch from 350 feet away with the occasional throw going into super glide mode for 400 plus.
The domier ones ( well subtle dome)also go a lot farther than the flatter ones, especially for those with less power.
I could see this disc being great for beginners who canhold the large rim, but if we could spend some time on polymer development, getting some urethane in the rim, I could see it being used for certain shots in a pros game, maybe even as a roller or tomohawk.
I'm not sure when we will get into full production of this disc, right now all of the time is being spent on Infernos and the retooled Scream!

Sorry, I had to.

I do have one of these at home...I may have to take it to the field tonight and play around with it some. The few throws I have had with it...were kind of a surprise. Not quite what I was expecting.

Thanx for the info, I think I have to try it out when you run it again, there are two holes on our new course nearby, where I think it has some potentials !
