This is specifically referring to Buzzz's I just got a Z and a CryZtal in the mail. They feel the same in the hand, but it's supposed to rain for the next few days here so I have no chance to test them and see if there's a difference in flight.

If someone could let me know the difference, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've always found the Cryztal to be more durable than the Z. I also found them to be more overstable. I beat on one for a full summer and it was still predictable in the wind. They both were in my bag for a while. Now, I am throwing a 2nd first run instead of the cryztal, but I could swap them at any time. Also, Z seems slightly less slick when wet/humid, so carry lots of towels for the early morning rounds if you find it's your go-to disc.

sounds like i'll go with the cryztal then, i lost my worn in wasp and need a replacement for it without having to wait to beat another z wasp in

A new cryztal Buzzz is a lot like a beat DOMEY Z Wasp. I havn't found anything quite like a new (or beat) FLAT Z Wasp. The flat ones just seem to dwarf the domey ones in predictability and stability.

mine wasn't completely flat, but not domey either...i loved that little stinger until it kicked off a tree trying a spike hyzer to never be seen again.

When I say flat I mean FLAT. Brim to brim dead flat. Not even a HINT of dome. I've collected 8 or 9 of these. On my second.

Remember to weigh your Crystal Buzzz's. The weight range on them is between 172-178g.

I only throw Flat Z buzzz's. I won't throw a Crystal buzzz, because the 178g Flat Z Buzzz is my straight-to-overstable Buzzz while my 172g Flat Z Buzzz is my major turnover midrange.

I too have found the Cryztal to be more overstable that the Z.
For a long time I was throwing Cryztal buzzzes because they were the only really flat ones I could find.

Then I got my hands on a 1st First Run. Loved it. When that smacked off a tree and went into a river never to be seen again I started a serious quest.

The answer lay in tournament stamped Z buzzzes. The hot stamping makes them super flat, really stiff and they fly arrow straight.

I don't know if this make a difference but all of mine are bright orange, have a large circular hotstamp.

So you would recommend a tournament-stamped Z-Buzzz over a Cryztal Buzzz as a replacement for a 1st-run Z-Buzzz? What about the Midnight Z-Buzzz? I'm still throwing the first, 1st-run I ever bought and dread the day I finally lose it (doesn't stop me from throwing it though, it's too good a disc!). I have picked up a couple Cryztals and a couple Midnights in preparation for that day, but haven't thrown them enough to find which is the closest match to the original 1st-runs. I would love to hear other experiences...

Any flat max weight Z-buzzz will work.

I have never thrown a midnight buzzz. But yes, I found the super flat tournament stamped buzzzes to fly more like my 1st run than the cryztals I bought.

I'm a buzzz thrower and i'll give you my analysis.

Cryztal Buzzzes are still too domey for me in unless you find the oddballs..
Z-buzzzes are way too domey for me and i don't like them.. Only one i liked was a "flattened" top tourney stamped one.
Midnight Buzzz- Best replacement for a 1st run right now next to the "second first run" which i'm not paying that much for.
2nd 1st run- probably the better replacement to a real 1st run.
1st run- The best Midrange ever made.. I bought 4 when they came out and i'm only one my second. Hoping to ace with it finally so I can retire it. Midnights feel the same to me.

Hmmmm that seems low. In the last 2 weeks two different auctions for blue ones have been sold for $45 to $50 each. Here's one of them...

I only thought i had a lot of them (20ish)....then i saw Sandalman's stash!

Sorry 'bout the thread drift. Back to the topic, i've found every cryZtal disc to be more overstable than it's elite-Z counterpart.

Not sure if any of you have tried the 150 Cryztal Z XS, but man was that thing a pig. I don't think it had much to do with the plastic, moreso the cooling process or something like that.
