Looks like the courses are Widefield Community Park, and Pueblo City Park. Here's the flyer with the information on itColorado State Championships Flyer (http://www.milehighdiscgolf.org/06events/pdf/costates.pdf)
And This is the current registrationRegistration List (http://www.hcdiscgolf.com/events/index.php?get_event=16&c615943d03afb3d45da17cbf483e5729) It says on the flyer you have to be registered by the 27th. Hope that helps.

your stuff will fly a bit more stable up here. I havent had any experience playing at sea level, but if you throw discs in different stages of wear throw one broken in more than you would at sea level. Either way I definately reccomend getting out at least a day early and throw alot of drives, your putts should be the same (still practice them of course) get a feel for it.

I played my first tournament at a lower elevation last November. It was quite an experience. I finally found what worked best for me was to throw the same discs, about 4-5 grams heavier. So at elevation I throw 166-169 orcs, and at home(4500 ft) I throw my 160-164 orcs. As far as putting goes, your putts will drop alot quicker at higher elevation.

The first 5 years I played were sea level on the east coast with tons of trees and humidity and the like. Moved out to Colorado in March of this year and noticed a severe lack of trees (don't worry, Pueblo and Widefield have plenty) but my discs were a little more overstable. It's easy to go from sea level to elevation. Flights can be floatier and go further, but also drop off quicker at the end of the flight. It's nothing drastic. A few warmup holes and you'll get it. You'll just want to get your putt on as those will tend to drop out of the air a little faster. Then again Eric, you're a 1010 rated golfer, surely you can adjust :) You can use the same bag you use now, but keep that roller disc for those long annies.

Widefield: Pretty technical, many sporadic trees with a meandering creek that comes into play on many of the holes. Not really any notable elevation as most of the course is pretty flat. It generally is windy there so that's always a big factor.
Pueblo: Beauty of a course, well manicured fairways which are all or mostly grass, nice mature trees on the fairways but far from a 'woods' course. Just a great open course (no real elevation) with lots of mature trees with a few holes that might be considered 'woodsy.'
They both cater to nice accurate drives and in some cases, nice accurate upshots.

Is McCabe even here? I have no idea who he is or what he looks like, just know he's a 1010 and was thinking of showing. So far we have Mikey Randolph in the lead at -9, Zak Martin in 2nd at -8, and I'm not sure after that. I think they have a nice separation on the field. I may be in 3rd at -2 but I have no idea. Don't know about anyone else.

Eric didn't make it. He called and was told that "Registration was closed".
I hope the event is full?

Pat said there were 39 open players, and maybe only two of them were rated over 1000

Randolph won by 16, Jeff Layland in 2nd, Zak Martin tied for 3rd (he took an unfortunate trip circle 10 and a double circle 7 on a 170 foot hole...silly double mando...)with douggie Allen who smoked the 4th round with a 49. Well, Mikey smoked that but whatever, nice shootin doug. Mittenzz losered his way to 11th after being two off the lead after round one. I'm officially retiring and fading away into darkness after the Johnny Roberts Memorial. Bidding starts on my disc collection in November.

Oh, and Joe Klosky had to bow out due to an injury he sustained at work...took a circular saw I believe to his shin and sawed his bone 4mm deep...he's gotta stop thinking about disc golf when operating dangerous machinery. He's going to rehab it this week and hit the USDGC and make a name for himself.
