Let's talk Special Blend Orcs for a minute...

I love throwing the SB Orcs, and it is a big deal if/when I lose one.

Well I threw my last one in at Redhawk last night, and I was thinking.....

.....was this a blessing or a curse?

My question is this.

Do you think it is good to use discs like these? I mean, if there are anymore runs of them I would buy some, but is it really good to throw "special" discs that aren't commonly avaliable?

Are they going to make a production line version of the sb orc, like a star orc? Or is the Sb plastic the same as star?

I don't know, I love the discs, but I don't want to be running around looking for these things for the rest of my life....

I think the key here is to buy about 3 or 4 when they come out, improve your game, and then..... DON'T THROW THEM IN THE WATER!!!:D

To answer your question Treat...
It was worth it to buy it because it supported a fundraising program, like Am Worlds, Tulsa, and the True-Growth Program.
If you ever made a good shot with your sb orc, then it was worth it. The fact that they are hard to replace is unfortunate, but not something that will destroy your game.
BTW, the STAR Orcs will be out either this month or next month so don't fret, redhaired one.

Will the star line orc be the same "SB" plastic?

Or will it have the same flight? I mean isn't the star line orc only going to have the same name at the SB?

Also, while i'm on the subject, is CFR plastic, like the CFR Wraiths we got at Hell on the Border, the same as Star plastic?

Becasue it seems different to me...

SB and STAR are basically the same thing. SB just refers to the first batch of plastics. Star is a little different, but not much. It seems the only difference is the ridigity of the disc. They should fly the same and wear the same and grip the same. If you notice, the first discs coined SB were only in red and blue. Now, the SB is just used for limited runs of discs. For example, the only way you can get Ontario Rocs in STAR plastic is the USDGC "Special Blend" Rocs. And the SB Roadrunners are Fundraisers for the US Masters.

Same plastic, just star wraiths with a custom stamp.

Didn't TDSA sell some of these SB Tulsa Orcs to raise money for baskets before Worlds? If so does anyone have a extra one.

The Tulsa and Buffalo's are true special blend. They are grippier, faster, glidier, and beat in faster. The Scissortails on the other hand are star with a fancy stamp. It seems like the early ones resemble pro plastic more.

I've thrown them all, but don't take my word. Try out the star and see how it compares.

FYI -

There was only one run of SB Orcs for Tulsa. There are no "early" runs. The hot stamps are the only difference.
