So, I recently injured my knee and would like to hear from others what they did, how they rehab'd, how long it took, would they change anything? Stuff like that.

To tell my story, I slid into a straddle split postion on my driveway. I severely strained my right MCL (RHBH plant foot, arrgh!), sustained a menisco-capsular separation, and have a bad contusion on my medial femoral condyle (bone bruise on the inner nob of the knee). It is non-surgical, so all I can do for now is lay around and heal. Screws up my season but I would like to enjoy many more at my former level, so I am doing what it takes to get back to that point.

I would like to hear from people who have sustained similar injuries on just what it took to get back. Thanks in advance.

I injured my knees before the invention of MRIs and CT scans so diagnoses back then were not so specific. My doctor said, "Those will heal up in a few weeks, but they are going to be a problem in your 40s." He was right.

Never had ligament problems, but had my 3rd torn right medial meniscus (& 3rd arthroscopic repair/removal) in January. First tournament back was in April. Full-speed (with aggressive rehab) by July.

Being laid up will give you a chance to really groove your putting without the distraction of pesky drives & upshots.

I cleanly tore my MCL and shreaded my ACL with lots of cartilige damage playing college soccer. It required total reconstructive surgery using grafted tissue and several scopes. If you really want to know what I did for rehab, and what worked and didn't, I can tell you and post for everyone. For anyone who is not a professional athlete, it mainly takes time and not hurting it anymore. If you want to continue to play disc golf....I would say learn to throw forehand.

Don't want to get used to putting with a brace on, especially when I really don't want to lift my left foot off the ground, as is my style.
Forehand is actually worse then backhand as when the right foot drags behind, it's pulling on the ligament. Besides, my forehand was pretty good as is.

Keep 'em coming, thanks again.
