Terry Toolen, are you ok?

I paid for a disc on ebay over 2 weeks ago and never heard anything....ever.

He has a perfect feedback of 25, so I'm sure something crazy happened but ive tried 6 times to email/ get a message out and nothing. Hope all is well.

Any help?

I will vouch for Terry, he can get busy and take longer than expected to do things. I would not worry about it that much.

Terry doesn't have access to a computer during the day anymore....give him a couple of days and I'm sure that your disc will appear on your doorstep. :cool:

Toolen is a stand up guy! I will also vouch for him. He does a lot of good in A-town. He will do right by you!

Terry may be a little slow sometimes, but will do what he says. I've never seen him be slow by choice but sometimes life slows him down. I am positive your disc will come to you.

Well, after 9 emails and ebay message attempts, STILL NO ANSWER. I'm going to have to file a claim with ebay and paypal soon. Any help would be appreciated! THIS STINKS!

Saw him last night and I did mention it to him. He stated that he would look into it. He just switched jobs and his only access to a computer is from home....unforunately he is rarely home. /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Mr. Roc, you're right, it stinks. Especially since you don't know the guy. I hate having to wait for a disc I purchased on eBay. All these people, including Mr. Toolen, are pretty good sorts, though, so please give Terry a couple more days and see what his explanation is. Like you said, he's got a good rating, so I'm sure it's not intentional. You can always come play VPO and kick his a**. Thanks

Well, still no contact from Toolen after 1 month. The only one who is taking effort (besides me, and surprisingly, my mail carrier) is a very cool friend of Toolen. If he doesnt get me my goods, im looking forward to chronicling the prosecution efforts HERE! Ive done some preliminary research and If it involves the US postal system (like contracting to use the system to complete contracts), its a good chance that the person WILL BE SLAMMED. Also, when an Ebay auction has been paid for with Paypal, youve got an iron clad case AND they (Ebay now owns Paypal) have stepped up there prosecution efforts to answer the increase in this activity. Normally I'm not such a jerk, but him NEVER answering my many emails has driven me insane! I can just picture him reading them and chuckling, while sitting back and relaxing. It isn't like you havnt been warned, Terry Toolen!

have you tried contacting him by phone or by mail? Is email the only method you've tried? What if he lost his ability to get email?

I've met Terry a few times, and I've been around him and his family for several years in the DFW DG community. I know lots of people who will vouch for him... and this sort of post isn't really making you look like the good guy in this situation. The fact is that it's a disc auction, you're both disc golfers, and the amount is far too small for either of you to get upset about or to try to screw the other one over.

Back off a step or two, be civil, and try to cover all of your bases before you start an unnecessary battle over a frisbee.

Mr Roc Steady, I will be glad to settle this issue for you. I propose one of two options. If you will tell me what type of disc you are purchasing, I will gladly purchase one for you, or I will fully refund your money . I am not going to sit by and let any individual SLAM one of my friends. Toolen is a stand up guy, who works hard for disc golf in the metroplex. If you choose to persue one of these options. I will be glad to settle up with Mr Toolen @ a later date. I REFUSE TO STAND BY AND LET A COMPLETE STRANGER SLAM ONE OF MY BRO'S. THREATS WILL GET YOU NO WHERE!

Why can't Terry just make good and send my disc? For that matter, why can't he even aknowledge me? When his friend told him about it, he said he would "look into it" What's there to look into? Is it wrong for me to say something? Am I a jerk for wanting my disc? Can I stop asking so many questions?

I am not sure if I have the Roc you are looking for, but if you will post the E-Bay number I will also look through my collection. I do not know Terry that well, but all experiances I have had with him was that he was a stand up guy. Please post what you purchased and someone here will make it good for you.

I think we all appreciate your need for resolution, and several people have offered to make this deal good for you. I personally don't know what kept Mr. Toolen from responding to you, but my best guess is that it wasn't something within his control. Post your auction and let one of us take care of this so we can all move on to bigger things... like the VPO that I'm sure Terry will have a big part in making happen.

Please. Instead of saying what a great guy Terry is (and offering to cover for him), someone needs to get Terry in contact with this guy and settle it out. I like Terry too, but taking a month to handle an eBay sale is pushing ridiculous.

I'll say one thing, as I told JC, someone posted me a PM saying good luck tracking him down because he posted late up on the boards regarding a tourney he was running and he was complaining that only 33 peeps showed. Now, if terry is putting together tourneys ON HIS OWN TIME so people could enjoy playing in tourneys in your area, he has earned some big credit with me as I know how much (thankless) time and effort it takes to put one on. Actually, it was that negative PM that made me stop the claim I was filing. Funny how things work out.
Anyway I only havew till the 22nd to file or I will lose my paypal claim rights. So, if i dont get a tracking number (at least) I'll have to start proceedings on the 22nd.

I've looked through my stuff, since I played in that event in 1991, and was TD of the event for a few years afer that. I have some used things with that stamp, but they're pretty beat up, and no Rocs. Rick Rothstein was the TD that year, and I know Rick doesn't have anything left with that stamp. Too bad, it was a pretty cool stamp, especially for 1991. I'll ask some of the Columbia boys, but I'm not optimistic.

No can do from my collection either. I never had one of the stamps. I am pretty sure I have some Ontario Rocs, but they are NOT new.
