Watch out for a guy in Dayton Ohio hamed Ed Russell. He bought a pin from me on ebay, paid for it and then told me he wanted special shipping. So after I shipped it, he decided not to pay for the special shipping which was $58.

He's a thief, don't do business with him except cash only and make sure he pays for shipping in advance.

we talkin "pin" like a DG basket? or "pin" as in "I like Ike"?

I'm having trouble imagining the special shipping for a lapel pin :)

The postage on a "I Like Ike" pin is 37 cents. Must be the other type.

What are you doing shipping something BEFORE he paid for it??????

Bad Ebayer

One time I ordered a basket from the late great Tomas Bertrain (StrokeSaver baskets) He shipped it USPS with a sheet of stamps on it. Funniest thing I ever saw.

He said he needed it bad before he went on vacation, so to save a day I went to UPS and shipped it, instead of going to UPS and getting a fee, bringing it back, emailing him, waiting for payment and then schlepping (I'm 1/32 Jewish so I can use this word) it to UPS again. It seemed easier, and most people are honest enough.

Never again. It's schmucks (another Jewish word) like this that teach us not to trust (a goy word) anybody.

methinks he missed my sarcasm ;)

seriously though, trust nobody you've never met... and really only about 10% of those you have met. Oh, and always insure the shipment. I've been screwed over by ebay transactions going bad before. One of them was a $4000 motorcycle. I said very clearly on the auction: "this motorcycle has been damaged more than 20% of its total value and will therefore not qualify for financing. this is a cash only sale." After the auction ended at $4250, the guy sent me an email saying "cool! now I just gotta talk to my bank guy and get the lon taken care of. you should have a check within a week!" I got very lucky and sold it to the third bidder for $3600 (his max bid) but I had to pay ebay's commission on the $4250.

Anyway... sorry to drift the thread. Good luck trying to get some money from him. I'd recommend talking to eBay about it. they suspended the guy who screwed me over (even though they wouldn't discount my commission  )
