The responses are fascinating. LOL! Classic. Of course I hope Pat proves those who doubt him wrong.
I would be interesting though if he insulted a PDGA BOD Member, Volunteer, Deleted My Post but left the ones that should be deleted, and then quit the PDGA before even taking office. We'd then have all our answers in one fell swoop. LOL!

Wow! Hadn't heard that one since 3rd Grade. Um, I'm rubber you're glue...
I wish I liked you enough to recognize this thread as a desparate cry for help, but I don't. All I'm seeing here is jealousy with a sour grapes topping. Good for you Nick. I knew that your true colors would become evident. What I can't figure out is why your parents let you out of daycare long enough to use the internet. Now everyone knows you're the biggest kid in the sandbox. That is so special.*
*special can be interpreted in many ways.

Neon,
Actually, like Za, I found it amusing. But as my wife says, the best humor often has an element of truth and runs the risk of being offensive.
Nonetheless, if our goal is to help the PDGA, and to promote cooperation between the Old Board members, the new Board members, and the ED, I fail to see how this will help... If you care, as you claim to, then don't you think your time could be better spent trying to help Pat and the rest of the Board find a good working relationship?

Will Pat be able to get along with other PDGA Board Members and PDGA Volunteers?
Very Well and Probably make the most sense. "Have my Doubts" is fair.... it would be fair for any new or existing BoD member or volunteer. No Way is prejudical and not in touch with any reality
Will Pat be able to accept group consensus on issues facing the PDGA?
100% of the time - no one can, should, or be expected to
75% of the time - not a bad objective
50% of the time - also not troo bad an objective
25% of the time - probabyl a tad on the low side
0% of the time - do you know how low a number Zero Percent is???
Will Pat be able to resist being disrespectful and confrontational with fellow Board Members and PDGA members on this message board when in office?
Yes, he is able to change - incredibly biased wording assumes respect and non-confrontation would require change.
He'll laps on occasion, but overall yes - oh, disagreement is now a "lapse"? cool.
He'll faulter about half the time - same answer, same question, different line item.
He'll continue as before - probably a good guess
He'll get worse now that he thinks he has the upper hand - "Upper Hand" of what??? i am 1 member out of 10,000. this answer doesnt make sense even though the question itself doesnt make sense either - and thats hard to accomplish!
Will he quit projects before their completion?
Yes - better define completion or this question is unanswerable.
No - i would not have been a Project Managerfor 20+ years if i quit projects in the middle.
Will resign before his full term is out?
Just answer No. if you want to be right. Answer Yes if you want to help Nick cause trouble.

i dont really know yet. i listened in on the last BoD meeting, but as an observer rather than a BoD member. Given that, i probably ought to defer to a current BoD member for news about that meeting.
After the 21st, when the BoD changes, i will more than happy to share with you hot topics

Got news for you. The Board changed on September 1. You are a current board member. Although the next teleconference might be on the 21st, although I suspect that's the date of the fall summit.

well, ok then, my first utterance on the DB re the BoD was wrong. how poetic :D
right the 21 is the summit in augusta.
i still dont know, cuz i was elected oversight director but that position was abolished by the new by-laws, which unless i am wrong again, are now the law of the land. and since the duties of the BoD members have not yet been divvied up, i have no real authority to do anything.
as you all know, brian and laurie are going back to canada, so filling their roles is a top priority of the organization. there is some already work started with several folks to move that effort forward.

The new constitution makes no mention of regional coordinators either. If the person elected competition director is not the competition director, then are the people elected as state coordinators just chumps who ran for a position that has been abolished? Can the PDGA say in a consistant manner that they are state coordinators but the directors elected to specific positions are not holding those positions until the end of their term?
My legal opinion is that the people elected to a two-year position one year ago have one year left to serve in that position. The people elected this year have two years left to serve in that position. I could make the argument from the language of the new pseudo-Constitution or from simple logic. I doubt that there is any useful case law.

At our teleconference call last Wednesday, we amended the PDGA Bylaws to specify the board member terms. They are continuing exactly the same way that they have been (since we changed the elections to happen mid-year).
We also approved a new disciplinary process which we will be publishing shortly.
As time goes on, we will continue to formalize the organization's policies and procedures, including defining roles and responsibilities for all elected positions.
We will soon have a lot more documented than was available in the previous Constitution. And now we'll be able to make updates when necessary, without depending on the annual membership voting process.
Pat and the other Board members will all be actively involved in creating these new policies. We are already seeing the benefits of the changes the members approved.
