Outlaws is a go!
This year will be a C tier.
$1000 added
2rounds of 21 at the Rock
1round at the new Wilco and 1 round of 18 O.B engineered by Mike olse and James the Legend McCain.
And of course 9 hole skins for the top four open scores for $500.
We are also offering a trophy only division for the open.
Flynhigh will be PROviding pick your plastic payout.
Sign ups can be found at Peace Park or anytime at Round Rock.
So come join us at the Rock for the most grueling event of the year. If you can't handle it, come be a part of the gallery. We are working on a lil someting for anyone that comes out to watch.....more details to follow

So, an 18 hole design. I guess that means that we can drop three holes. Can we move some boxes?
As for a plan, how about a program insert that outlines all of the OB and rules for the OB course. I will print it out and make the necessary copies. If possible, maybe we could include all of the rules and OB for all of the courses, and include it on the same sheet.

I just meant giving you an idea on how the rules for the OB course could best fit into your plan/program because the exact rules cannot be finalized until the paint is in place, and by then the ink on your program will have already dried, I assume.

there will need to be OB lines painted on holes # 2 next to the cart path due to grass growing over the concrete, # 4 where ever it is decided on how the OB will play by the garbage can, Hole # A along the dirt road just to ensure there is no confusion I believe the rest of the holes will be defined by the cable that runs throughout the park.
All water OB?? thinking of holes # 3 and # 4 have some water in certain spots.
and 2M is in effect?

V, I didn't quite understand the way you described what courses we are using. We are playing 3 rounds (1 of them with rope and the 18 hole setup) at the Rock and 1 round at Wilco, then a final 9 at the Rock? Is that how it is gonna go?

I will be using orange paint and will be only putting down some OB lines where there will be questions on whether the disc is completely OB or not. IE # 2 where the sidewalk meets the grass and A hole where the dirt road meets the grass.

Trophies will be ready for pick up Friday. The trophy only division will has 3 trophies (1st, 2nd, 3rd) I hope some people take advantage of this division.
And I hear there will be a good size Women's Division......Will LA LA keep the trophy at the ROCK?
I am also trying to get some very nice dry fits recognizing this years champions.......I am still waiting on a call on that, but I though it would be cool to receive a trophy, champion shirt, and of course your winnings.
And so all know top 33% is the payout for all divisions.
And entry cash break down consist of:
The $5 ace pot is additional to entry and if not hit will payout 3 closest to the pin after regulation play
$2 to pdga
$3 to cash ctps
The rest goes to pay out
All added money will be split up by attendance % of divisions.

Matt, having done this several times myself, I would say the answer is no. If all your ducks are in a row it would be tight but possilbe. It only takes one item, such as verifying the value on a non-cash sponsored item to throw you off. Since a lot of sponsorship stuff appears at the last moment and you are to busy to verify value and tabulate it it generally takes a little extra time.

Don't be scared of the ROCK, it's big, but not hairy. There is a good chance that this tourney will move to another weekend next year, right V?
Lala just doesn't want to be bothered during the tourney about doubles payout. So do yourself a favor and don't ask her from Sat. morning until Awards. Ask me, it will be less painful. :D

The following posts will contain info for those interested in thinking about, or practicing the gold layout. It is 18 holes
Round Rock Gold Layout and Rules
General Rules - All water, street (defined by the cables is OB. The hole number references used to define tees and baskets are borrowed from the normal Round Rock course which plays as Reg #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, A, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, B, C, 16, 17, and 18.
Gold #1 - Par 3 Tee - Regular #1 Basket - Reg. #1
In Bounds area is everything to the right of the path and the circle around the basket
If you do not land in bounds on the drive, you get a 1 stroke penalty and throw from the drop zone. Every throw after that is not in bounds is played as usual: you play from where you went OB with a one stroke penalty. In the rare event you cannot fly over the island from the drop zone, you would continue to throw from the drop zone with one stroke penalty for each throw. IF you fly over the IB island, you would take it where it was last IB with a one stroke penalty.
.ps It is very easy to land IB from the drop zone.
Gold #2 - Par 5 Tee - Regular #2 Basket - Reg #3
You are playing from #2&#8217;s tee to regular #3&#8217;s basket. On the drive, the sidewalk and beyond (like regular) is OB except near the bridge. Near the bridge, OB is painted along the right side of the fairway all the way beyond the basket, connecting to the creek. On the left of the fairway, the creek and beyond is OB. The basic idea is that the fairway follows regular #2 and doglegs right along the creek towards regular #3
Gold #3 - Par 5 Tee - Regular #4 Basket - Reg #4
The creek and beyond is OB on the left. There is a large semi circular area of OB connected to the creek at about 300 feet and extending near to the bridge. There is another OB area connected to the sidewalk going to the bridge (where the sidewalk turns) and coming out towards the box and running all the way to the road. Approaching the basket, the creek and beyond is OB and the sidewalk and beyond id OB. Basically you may throw directly towards the basket, but there is a large OB area at about 300, you would then need to throw over the OB, but not too far into the next OB. Alternatively, you may play off to the right off the tee, and negotiate a tight fairway to the basket.
Gold #4 - Par 4 Tee - Regular #5 Basket - Reg #5
The fence on the right, and the road on the left is OB. Additionally, there is a semi-circular OB area connected to the road at about 280 and about 450. There is also another semi circular OB area connected to the fence farther down the fairway on the right.. Basically, you throw short and straight along the road off the tee, throw over OB near the road, and throw towards the basket, or you may throw towards the fence line off the tee and throw over OB to a safe zone on the left, or go for the basket. There is a continuous curvy strip of fairway between the semi circular OB areas to use if you so choose.
Gold #5 - Par 4 Tee - To the right of Reg #6 Basket Reg #6
The street on the left and fence on the right are OB. There is also a semi circular OB area connected to fence line and starting way before the tree line, moving towards the gap in the trees, and extending past the trees and reconnecting with the fence line.
Gold # 6 - Par 3 Tee - To the left and up from reg #7 Basket - Reg #7
This is an island hole. The irregularly shaped island goes around the basket and extends to the road past the basket and comes along the road towards the tee, If you are not IB on the drive, you go to the drop zone with a one stroke penalty. Every throw after that is not in bounds is played as usual: you play from where you went OB with a one stroke penalty if you flew over the IB area. In the rare event you cannot fly over the island from the drop zone, you would continue to throw from the drop zone with one stroke penalty for each throw. IF you fly over the IB island, you would take it where it was last IB with a one stroke penalty. It is another easy drop zone.

This is another island hole with the island extending close to the right of the basket and connected to the road on the left beyond the basket, and connected to the road on the left well before the basket. If you do not land IB off the drive, go the drop zone. In the rare event you cannot fly over the island from the drop zone, you would continue to throw from the drop zone with one stroke penalty for each throw. IF you fly over the IB island, you would take it where it was last IB with a one stroke penalty. It is tough 40 foot putt from the drop zone because there is OB near the basket.
Gold #12 –Par 3 Tee – Reg #12 Basket – Reg #12
Played as usual
Gold #13 – Par 3 Tee – Up and to the right of Reg #13’s tee Basket – Reg #13
The sidewalk on the right and beyond is OB, There is a small semi-circular area connected to the sidewalk near the trees near the basket that is OB
Gold #14 – Par 4 Tee – Approx 80 feet behind reg # 14’s tee Basket – Reg #14
There is OB on the right running along the ridgeline past the basket and on the infinity.
Gold #15 – Par 3 Tee – Reg #15 Basket – Reg #15
.There is an island around the hole. Drop zone is on the first ridge on the left. In the rare event you cannot fly over the island from the drop zone, you would continue to throw from the drop zone with one stroke penalty for each throw. IF you fly over the IB island, you would take it where it was last IB with a one stroke penalty.
Gold #16 – Par 3 Tee – Reg #16 Basket – Reg 16
Played as usual with the lake as OB
Gold #17 – Par 5 Tee – Reg #17 Basket – Reg #17
Lake on the left is OB and fence and beyond near houses on the right are OB. There are two semi-circular areas. The first is on the right connected to the fences. It starts at about 300. The second is connected to the lake and starts at about 500 and extends past the opening and reconnects to the lake about 100 feet before the basket.

vinne, im sorry to say that i wont be able to play this weekend i did something to my arm on weds mini went out last nite to play could only get threw 9 holes (thats a long walk from hole 9 to hole one) but ill be there sat morning to watch so if you need any help let me know and of course ill be there all day sunday. :( :( :(

I don't know what Laura is doing, but even if y'all play the regular Rock during doubles, I would highly encourage people to look at the OB areas as they play and take mental or written notes. I would also encourage people to envision what their strategy would be. The gold is a layout (like many courses) where you will learn things about it the first time through. Play it once before the tourney, or at least play it in your mind as you play the regular layout.

I hadn't thought about it Lou. It seems a little challanging to get all the info to every player & correctly answer questions with out James or Mike there. :confused: I've got the O.B. printed from the post because I have OCD :o, but I don't feel confident in explaining the layout to everyone. Regular Rock it is unless there's a mutiny. I can hardly wait to see the layout myself - **** James. :)

I think so as well but I think you would need to play it 5-6 more times to remember all the landing zones. Congrats on 2nd good tourney...

I'm not sure there is a connection between winning one in MA1 and moving up, Guy. Epi also won in Victoria earlier this year as an am--that was before COTO. ;) However, that does not take away from him cashing his first time in the open division--gratz Epi!
Also gratz to Mr. Salazar for keeping the family well-represented. Anybody plug the scores into anything that estimates ratings? I'm curious to know if it took 1000-rated golf to win MA1 in Texas again. That has been the case in practically every event I've played in this year, including 4 non-sanctioned TX 10s. We have some great competition around here....

And the great crew and I did all that work at no cost.
So until we get paid for are services....should I worry about what non players requests..........
open alex downs won $450 and $450 in skins (15 players)
open ladies K-T won $330 (9 players)
Masters Shannon won $300 (8 players)
I sure you don't care what the ams did.
But all things will get posted and maybe the P.D.G.A. will install a paypal button for non players at a event to pay for their request of info of events they did not attend :D
How long did you float the river,how many were there, how much did it cost....I wasn't there....but hey I could use some useless information ;)

Saturdays lunch was great hotdogs and hamburgers but sundays lunch was even better shrimp, steaks, baked taters,and corn on the cob with plenty a COLD BEERS ;) Holiday weekend my friend maybe next year if it's not on a holiday weekend. The fishing this weekend was excellent, we had deep sea headquarters fillet 96 lbs of fish for us Saturday that were caught Friday night. Saturday night was a little slower but we still caught 3 specks, 3 redfish, and about 15 black drum. The water seemed like it was boiling, there were schools of black drum all around us. :)
