This year the Shule School will be held on Saturday instead of Sunday like we had done the past 2 years. It will still be a 1 day C-tier with a min. of $250 added. Players meeting is @ 9:00 Saturday Ingleside's Live Oak Park. More info on entry fees, etc. later

We will now have our BIG MONEY DOUBLES on Sunday. Doubles will be 1 round of best shot & 1 round of 7-7-7 w/ 21 holes.

From oldsuperstitions.com:

...Good Luck : To have one's garments caught up by a bush or briar when out walking is a promise of good luck, involving monetary gain.

...Good Luck: To set out for golfing on a rainy day

Maybe a rainy day in the shule isn't so bad? I think I'd still rather be on a dry fairway.

geomy
Aug 20 2006, 03:23 AM
1. I'm guessing probably, but not yet.

2. Just got back from Wilco in NW Austin, and my bloody legs remind me of Ingleside. Flat...technical...hit the fairway or bleed type of course. The trees in austin are much more forgiving, though.

The course is short & tight w/ lots of shule. Cement teepads, mach 3 baskets, sand everywhere, sometimes windy, sticky trees (they will catch anything)... It's a very fair course...

Yeah I've had at least a half dozen discs get swallowed...I saw where they went in, looked forever...nothing - vanished.
It's nice when I go looking for a disc and find one I threw in 3 months before...it's happened a few times.

Mando lost one on 12's left fringe...30 minutes we looked. Two days later we looked again and found it after another half hour - it was literally 2 feet in from the treeline

The singles part of the event is Saturday this year and the doubles on Sunday.

Doubles will be 2 rounds. 1st round best shot and the 2nd a 7,7,7 round of singles, worst and alternating shots.

Billy Nelson is running the event alongside the 3rd Coast Disc Golf Club. They expect a strong size field. If you want to play let Billy, myself or post here and you are good to play.

See everyone in Ingleside next weekend.

Course is looking good boys & girls. Mowers will be out again tomorrow and some work will be done on the alternate holes. I plan to be out there around 3:30 to trim some areas around the tee boxes (any help would be appreciated). Should be able to get a round in - tee off around 5:00 - for those interested in a competitive 18. The night mini is still planned for dusk, but according to Gabe we will only play the original 9 twice, not the extra two holes (16 & 17). As far as new baskets for the course goes, I'm not sure what is available at the City's warehouse. I will find out tomorrow. Thanks for the shout out to the Victoria clan, Wallace. I'd love to see a large group of open air players enjoy the Ingleside shule. Liz, will you play Women's Open? Gail still wants to come play if she has some competition. The third annual Shule School in Ingleside, TX lived up to its name for most of the players this weekend. 49 players got schooled by the sticky trees and tight lines of Live Oak park and a little bit of rain attempted to even things out.
