Suzette,
Any word on where the Battle for the Water Bucket will take place this year? I believe a trip to SoCal is overdue. It's been at Stockton and Santa Cruz without ever traveling South of Santa Maria.

If it was played during a Sat/Sun game NFL playoff weekend, I bet we could use Emerald Isle.
Eldo, Lama, Whittier....how about anywhere down here?

I like the Idea of having Golf carts.
Hey there,
Off the point, want to know about how to pick the players to be on SoCal team? Following by the SoCal series points? or what? Just wondering...

For SoCal, invites go by whoever has the most "total" points in the divisions that the the two team captains decide to offer that year.
The only guarrantee you have is that if, say, there are 6 spots for Open that year and you are one of the top 6 in total points in Open then you will get an invite and are for sure in if you want to go. After the initial invites, it's a little grey at times on how the positions get filled. I think Mike tries to go down the list by total points, but as the event gets nearer and peolpe drop at the last second nothing else in guaranteed.
SoCal uses "Series Points" to deicde the Series Champions. "Series Points" for SoCal are your best 5 finishes for pro or your best foru finishes for am. Pros have to be more consistent over the course of the year, as it should be.
Thanks, Rhett! Sounds like fun! Would be nice if Id be on team. :D

If SoCal wanted to actually win one of these events some year they should consider abandoning the points system and actually take the best golfers.
We'd kick NorCals sweet little ash like nobody's business.

It would be really interesting to see all the Best from SoCal and all the Best from NorCal play.
I know of a quite a few awesome players from both areas !!!!!
Just from California though..................not from Oregon , Nevada , Arizona , Wisconsin , Minnesotta , Florida , Texas , the Carolina's....etc..
