Will Easley still have the original pin placement for # 10 ? :D

rgran828
Aug 02 2006, 12:01 PM
Yes it will. According to the Foothills Disc Golf Club, the course will be "closed" for the tourney. Play should run smoothly at Easley and Greenville. We will have fly pads on the 10th and 11th tee at Easley. They do have a back up hole as an emergency in any case.

do you mean where #10 pin is now, or do you mean the original long pin @ Easley. Also , will pros be playing long tees @ Timmons ?

rgran828
Aug 03 2006, 09:49 PM
We mean where the pin sits now on #10 at Easley. As of now Pros and Ams will play from the normal tees at Timmons. Hopefully we can use this two-course tourney as a learning experience for possibly doing a similar tourney in early Spring or maybe a four day deal similar to Points Bonanza like our neighbors in Charlotte. With Seneca, Easley, Greenville, Greer, and Boiling Springs, who knows?

Why did you have to go and do that Rene? I played with such a vengence on Day 1 because you left me out and so I made it into Pool A.
Now that you went out of your way to wish me luck,... I get spanked by Riverview and PK.

Oh well. I probably had no business being in Pool A anyway.

By the way, Rene, Bill just walked by and says you apparently gave him the 'kiss of death' as well, so thanks from both of us.

Hey, Rene, PH here, just thought I'd say "hi" and ask about your baby, is he here yet? Congrats on Hotlanta. I'm just waiting for Jay to finish breakfast so we can play Hippo and Lake O today. Hope all is well in Greenville.

Nov 1 is the due date. She'll probably go into labor during the Upstate Classic if she's a few days late. Kepp up the good shooting Pat. And to all Upstate South Caroilna players, that means you Jay and Bill. Wish I could be playing right there with you guys. C'mon Cuban, let's see a fifty player jump these next rounds. Peace.

As of now the schedule on the flier is what we are going by, but still not written in stone. Schedule is highly subject to change. We have situations that have derived from the past couple of weeks. With local and regional players taking time off work to play Pro or Am Worlds, maybe the UFO does not fit into their schedule, financially or physically. Entries are slowly but surely coming in. We talked yesterday about the possibility of having everybody play one course on Sat and another on Sun. The result was this: On Wed. the 16th, we will make a final decision on the courses used. Online registration ends on Wed at midnight. We expect to have a lot of sign ups the day of also. We want to utilize our resources and volunteers the best we can. Since I am sitting out the tourney to be the "TD", I want every volunteer, assistant and helper to have the opprtunity to play. Obviously if everyone plays one course on Sat and the next on Sun, then number of needed volunteers drops. Just keep an eye out for a message from me on Wed. I will email every entrant of the the status and post the info on every resource we have. We are also prepared to add a hole or two, if needed. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late notice, we did have to wait until after Worlds to decide whether we'd be able to make this trip the next weekend. Our dogs and the puppy are just going to have to tough it out for a few more days with the dog sitter - add four more from Charleston - Vanessa, Coleman, Greg and Connor! (but we probably won't make it there for doubles).

Ben Gaddis tore up the competition winning Pro Master and beating the Open field by 1. That is a great competitor and a nice guy. Someone needs to give this guy a ticket to a major.

Way to go on the win Dr. DNA!

Thanks to Rene, Cuban, and all the others who helped with this mucho-fun event.

Props to all the women there - Nancy, your game has improved dramatically! Kim, I hope we'll get to see more of you in SC! To the woman who wasn't there - Jenn, I hope your arm heals quickly. And good news for women's disc golf: keep your eyes on Sarah Stanhope - she's the best female sidearm thrower I've ever seen. Huge power and great control. You heard it here first, folks!

Great tournament Rene, Zack, and all others who participated in making this tournament as smooth as possible! It was nice to see all you guys and also meet some of the new ones I haven't met before. I hope to be able to continue playing often like back in '03. Does anybody know when scores will be posted?

Oh yea, I guess I'm a pro now with my big $32.00 cash! , but on Friday the PDGA sent me an invitation to the '06 US Am Championships, can I still go???? hahah

Scoreboard was left behind at Hooters on Sunday night. I heard the Lead Scoreboard Administrator had to take a taxi home and his only responsibility of the weekend was left behind. Scores will be posted when scoreboard safely in the hands of the TD.

Congrats Cuban on 2nd Place, Mark Muren accepting cash and officially Pro (although this is approximately his 6th or 7th cashing without turning down), Sarah Stanhope keeps on winning, Bill Ball representing, Rick Huquembourg winning INT division, Dwayne Davis shooting good, Tim Thompson finishing strong, Dain Sivak cashing in the Open, Choad and David Debois for shooting hot 4th rounds, Chris "DNA" Kilgus on what I believe is his first "B" Tier win. Congrats bro. And Ben Gaddis, once again outplaying the field. Congrats Ben, and hope you do it again at the Upstate Classic.

Thanks to all sponsors, contributors, staff, water runners, course maint crews, and everyone who assisted over the weekend. Most of all Thank you Cuban, for all your hard work, initiative, and passion for Disc Golf. ;)

:(Get well soon Sam. Hope to see you up and running soon. LOL for you at the tourney. Everybody wishes you well and they all send a big What's Up!

See everyone at the Upstate Classic in November, Sign up early.
