It's time again for the Flying Pig. It's set for August 26th and 27th, at beautiful Mt. Airy and Harbin Parks. Random draw doubles will be held on Friday night, the 25th, with the mini draw at 5:45 pm. The updated flyer is posted on the Flying Pig webpage @ www.CincinnatiDiscGolf.com (http://www.CincinnatiDiscGolf.com)

Once again, I am keeping the entry fees low and affordable - which seems to be against the trend these days.
The 2006 Pig (designed-as-always-by-Claus) t-shirts and discs are really popular and with a tournament stamped disc, we have a great player's package again- especially for a reasonably priced tournament. This year, I'm listening to the feedback from the pros and pros will receive only the shirt in their package, and not a disc - which will help further boost the payout. Amateurs will get the whole package - IF I RECEIVE THEIR ENTRY FEES BY WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23rd! This of course assumes that the tournament hasn't filled to the max 90 players.

Remember - we filled up over a week early last year, and may fill sooner, this year. So get your entry in, now! Be sure to check the GCFDA website message board for more info, as we get closer to the tourney, including motel info and a list of registered players, so you don't drive all the way to Cincy and find no room - although, with over 20 courses, we have plenty of room for you to play our other fine courses! I hate seeing out of town folks drive all the way to Cincy from hours away and not be able to play because we filled. Don't plan on the waiting list - only a couple people got lucky and made it in on Saturday a.m. when a few players didn't show.

Thanks and I hope to see you at the Pig. Please contact me for any questions you may have.

For out of towners, the Pig layout will be played at the Harbin Park Course Challenge this weekend (Saturday August 5th). The GCFDA's Course Challenge Series is a bunch of monthly tournaments (on the scale of many C-tiers and even some B-tiers I've played) but for lower entry fees ($17 for Pro Open, $12 for Pro Masters, $12 for Advanced and $7 for Novices). 2 rounds of 18. Sign up by 9:30, tee at 10.

This is the only chance to play the entire Pig Layout that will be used for the Pig - this includes the 4 monster holes that replace 4 of the easier holes. It's a great way to get a handle on those holes before they eat your lunch at the Pig! The competition is tough - and the fields deep.

More info is at www.CincinnatiDiscGolf.com (http://www.CincinnatiDiscGolf.com)

The Pig is less than 3 weeks away!
I know a lot of Pros are turning their attention toward the Worlds, but please send your entries in now, before you get shut out. Over the past several years, the last people to sign up are the Pros - and they are also the ones who get shut out or have to sit on the waiting list.

Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia DGers - I hope to see your entries soon. (As for those Missouri guys who come in to beat up on the locals....if you want to wait a bit, I know a few local pros who wouldn't mind, too much!)
