Just to clarify, by "more stable" do you mean "more straight" or do you mean "more overstable" meaning "more resistant to high speed turn" . . . .??

When the grown-ups throw the ESP Surge in this neighborhood the instant review is "too flippy". I like them -- but then I don't throw with the rpms or velocity the young ones do . . ..

By "more stable" I mean more OVERstable. It is going to my new disc of choice!

Smitty, Doss, Keith, and myself had a chance to throw this disc yesterday, and it is all I was hoping for!! It is a little more stable than the ESP Surge. We were throwing 170g into a pretty good head wind, and this disc would always finish stable.
..so go buy a Pulse!!!

I hate to be the person to say this.......

You say it's more stable, the description in the auction says it's flat. This sounds like a freaking Illusion.

This disc feels nothing like an Illusion.

If you notice the prototype surges where kind of described as pop top flashes. The dominess seemed to give a little more glide to the disc and it was a little understable. On some of the early runs of the surges, they were getting flatter and also more stable. The Pulse is an attempt at restoring quality control back to the surge and get the glide back into the surge, but release a flatter version for the guys who are wanting the stableness.

Interesting - the Surge felt like a less stable Tee-Rex to me, does this mean that the Pulse will fly like a Tee-Rex? Also, my Z-Surge is far more understalbe than my ESP Surge, is that generally true amongst Discraft Discs? Does THAT mean that my soon to have Z-Pulse is a duplicate of my ESP Surge???

while I, and others, have found this with the Surge, it is not generally true with other molds, at elast in my experience. Compare an X Predator and Z. The Z is definately more beefy.
Someone did have an explanation, I think, about the Surge but I don't remember what it was.

Rumor has it, that DGA is working a a new disc with this pop-top mold, called the Hurricane. I have seen this disc bombed, further then anything else out there.

I watched Justin Kerr, a sponsored discraft player, crank this thing into a 15mph head wind and it held it for about 375' and then started to lift way left. He also used the z surge and into a head wind that thing will flip if not thrown with hyzer on it, so I would say it is almost as overstable as the T-Rex.

Any reviews on this thing. Not from people trying to sell it :)

From what I've heard it is sounding like it might be just a tad less overstable then a Tsunami. More overstable surge sounds great. Anyone who has thrown the disc extensively (not twice in a field) wanna chime in?

It's not exactly a thumbtrac, but not exactly not a thumbtrac... It's a groove on the surface of the disc. It's more on the rim than discraft's prior GT discs. When I gripped it, my thumb didn't hit that.

This disc is FAKE! Look at the description. It says the speed is 11 but the max is a 10.

is the rim wider than the surge? [like the flick/spectra/venom] the surge has a rim width of the starfire/beast/orc. that is the main factor affecting speed.
