Question for the rules guys:

You throw towards the basket placed on top of a hill- steep grade on one side, verticle drop off on the other into a large ditch/ revene (spelling). Basket sits about 3 ft from edge, ditch wall is about 8 ft deep on both sides, ditch floor is 5ft to 10 ft wide and maybe 80 ft long. If your disc lands in the ditch, against the far wall and there is no way to take a legal stance because of the position- do you take an unplayable lie, move to the top of the ditch on the far side and putt for your 3?
What if your disc lands on the top edge of the ditch/ cliff next to the basket. Because of soft soil and position, you can't take a legal stance (for a easy putt)- do you take an unplayable lie, go to the bottom of the ditch and putt for your difficult 3?

When up against the wall, you could use the solid object relief rule and move to the top of the wall without penalty. If perched on the edge by the basket, you would probably have to use the unplayable rule and drop to the bottom of the pit. However, since this is a known condition, this should have been dealt with by the designer or TD by providing casual relief when on the edge to drop to the bottom without penalty. We have the rock relief rule at Highbridge that requires casual relief on the LOP away from the basket when your disc lands in the rock beds near a few baskets.

Unless there are casual objects in the ditch, from which you may be granted relief under the rules, I think unplayable lie is the correct choice.

The Hippodrome, hole 6. Great short hole. Hopefully rules will be spelled out for the worlds. The shot from the tee is parallel to/ on top of the hill. Great course, I think it's the best in Augusta. Hole 9 could use some opening up for the second shot, otherwise, a great course. Good mix of long/ short, wide open (with OB)and tight holes. Wish the masters were playing it more than once.

Don't forget any body part can be used as a supporting point. I'd like to see someone try putting by laying against the ravine wall, put their hand behind the mini, and toss it backwards over their head for a no look putt.
