Ok, I have registered www.lodga.com (http://www.lodga.com) as the official website for the Live Oak Disc Golf Alliance. Right now it is just a copy of the old website I had up. I'll be fixing it up though in the next few weeks/months/years  So to get mini results you can go to www.lodga.com (http://www.lodga.com) as the other one is going to be disabled in about two minutes :o

Hmmm, Chris, try again and let me know. It's worked everytime I tested it, and for two other members so far. You may need to delete your cache before you try it, as I've been updating the form constantly this afternoon and you may have an old one in cache.

G'day from Tulsa,
Wow what a great time so far. Since arriving Friday its been all go. The courses here are awesome and all the Texans I have spoken to are having a good time and enjoying it all.
The first round kicks off in 8 hours so the hotel is gone quiet after a huge night last night.
Spoke to Yoda tonight and he is pumped. Live Oak is in the Okie house.
I am the TD of the primo BlackHawk course and looking forward to the great experience. The course is one of the best I have played.
Time to write my speach and get some sleep. Note to my Texan friends...never complain about the length of my player meetings again. Ask anyone here why /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I have the site under construction right now. I'm working on a new members only portion of the web site that you will have to login to in order to see the membership list and other stuff we add in the future. I hope to have it back up soon. Thanks to all of you who signed up early, but I may need you to do it again ;)

Hello fellow disc golfers, from Tulsa, OK.
Have my first round at noon today. Had our players meeting last night and had some good Billy Sims Bar-B-Q.
Chris is right. Chris has nothing on this guy (Forest). This guy can drag things out. Maybe it is just those guys that have a foreign drawl that talk so long. Got to go do my stretching and take a dip in a bath of Tiger Balm. Talk more later.

P.S.
Texas is well represented here. I believe we had the most at over 115. There are over 550 players here and we (Texans) make up about 1/5. Not bad.

Thanks,
Had a great time. Held second place the whole week. These guys were pushing me. My putting was off at times but managed somehow to hang on.
Heading to St. Louis to visit my sister. Be back in a week. I won a super raffle prize. Tell you more about it later. For some reason I am a little tired. Think I will go rest now. Thanks again. I guess the force was with me. :D

I recently had a conversation with the Dir. of Parks and Rec. in the city of Seguin and he informed me that they have had plans to install a disc golf course in Max Starke park for sometime and it is still a few years out from being installed. This course would resemble something along the lines of the course in Victoria, but has the potential to be even so much better! I walked the area of the park where the course would be installed and it resides in a huge old pecan orchard, with elvation and water hazards. The beauty of the project seems to be little or no clearing really needed on property. The place is set up to where you could almost just put pins and tee-pads in and start playing. The head of the parks dept seemed to agree and the issue turned to a lack of funding to get the project in the ground. This seems like a great oppurtunity for the clubs in Live Oak and San Marcos to pool resources to help these guys out and get another great course on the map. The same could be felt or said about the city of New Braunfels. This town has a horrible 9-hole and is in desperate need of an 18 or just plain moving those nine baskets to another park. I'm not sure if there are actual organized clubs in the towns of Gonzales, New Braunfels, or San Antonio, but any extra help is alway appreciated. If anyone is intrested in this idea let us know, we'll be having a club meeting coming up in a couple months to decide what we're going to do with this year's club funds. Thanks. ;)

Larry V. has been working with the city of New Braunsfels and they are working on the disign of a new 18 hole course. When they finish that project, Larry has permission to redesign the Prince Solms Park course.
Tell the P and R manager in Seguin to talk to the TX Parks and Wildlife about grants and funds available for new or renovating park projects for DG.

What about doing what 3rd Coast is doing? Hosting 4 or 5 tourneys in 1 year with all of funds going to install a new course.

These are the kinda of ideas I'm talking about. Maybe, if we got together and hosted a few small one day tournaments, with the proceeds going towards a goal like the one stated above, we could be playing more places around here sooner. :D I just have a bad feeling that if we sit around and wait for people to move to these areas and then rely on locals to pressue there parks. dept. we'll be waiting a long time to play any new courses. If an organization or a combination of many groups show interest, I'd imagine these places would pay a little more attention and maybe get the ball rolling a little faster on these projects. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
