Okay, so I get off work the entire week between Christmas and New Years. Naturally, getting some golf in where the weather is still nice sounds awesome. I just need to plan ahead so the trip is affordable.

So where should I head? Austin, Houston, Southern California, Florida? I've never played down south and would want a place with some nightlife too.

Consider the Tampa, FL area. Cliff Stephens is a great course in Clearwater. Gran Canyon is an incredible private course 45 minutes up the road in Brooksville. An hour or so in another direction is Orlando, with a number of fine courses (check out Barnett Park). Tampa has Ybor City for the nightlife.

Yeah, Ybor is pretty fun, a little more clubbin' than my tastes. I've heard Austin is pretty nuts too though. I'm more of a concert goer anyways.

Are there weekly doubles in the winter or anything like that? We always have a new years day tournament in Cincinnati.
