All of us here in Shreveport would like to welcome everybody to our 9th Challenge on July 15 and 16. This event will be a PDGA B-tier and a Southern National Qualifier. We'll be playing 2 rounds of 21 at beautiful Ford Park on Sat and 1 round of 27 at the infamous Clyde Fant Pkwy on Sun. Final 6 $25/hole skins for top 4 scores in pro divisions. Having a problem getting hotels to reserve a block of rooms during the weekend because of the gambling boats. Still working on it though.

I played Clyde Fant Pkwy yesterday, it was looking real good. Someone was out working on the Tee boxes of the extra 9 holes. He was doing a read good job.

I really wish I could make this tournament. I have not played a tournament in Shreveport in over 15 years. Both courses are good for my game. Shoot, I remembered that yesterday when I play Clyde Van for the 1st time in over 10 years. I shot well at Ford last time I played there too.

The courses will be in great shape for the event. Should be well manicured for huge rollers and air shots. We've gotten enough sponsorship money to give away tournament shirts to the 1st 50 paid entries. I'll get a list of hotels and phone numbers posted tomorrow. Most are near Ford Park on the west side of town (Pines Rd and Monkhouse Dr. exits off I-20). More in Bossier City closer to Clyde Fant (most every exit has one or two).

For those of you that do not read many posts, there was an intersting thread about Microtel being a NT sponsor next year, currently offering discounted rates for disc golfers.

Supposed to end at 8. But I'd like the last group to go out no later than 730. Just so I'm not out there til 10 and have to get up early in the morning. Clyde Fant was mowed today. Looks great! As long as it doesnt rain before Fri, should be sweet for the weekend.

What holes have new pin positions

We're going to put 16 in the alt 7 position on the hill with a mando at the big tree in the 8 fairway. Might put 4 about 100 ft. past the bridge if I feel bold enough. We've also made #6 at Ford an island green and made the fake lake on #12 bigger. I moved red 17 about 40' to the left to make it a 450' straight shot instead of hyzer.

heres an update , its ALOT cooler in my apartment than it was out there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :DI may not go out for weeks :eek: The Pro who won last year won again I think he was from mississippi I could be wrong , I know Chris farhnam got third and chris flesner tied for 4th and won 5 out of the 6 skins

The Shreveport Disc Golf Club knows how to put on a great tournament. Thanks Kevin and everybody else that was involved in running it, had a great time. CZ great jerky man! My wife and I ate a whole bag on the way home last night. Loved the courses just wished that I had played better yesterday, oh well, good shooting Joey you deserved to win. Met alot of great people this weekend and hope to see some of you later on this year for VPO. :cool:

By the way, Flesners 125 dollar putt was friggin' awesome. He really put the pressure on Jamie, and somebody couldnt answer the call.......... Spectacular!

I had a great time this weekend playing this event even though it was 100+ degrees. Those courses are amazing....I will definately be back. Thanks to Kevin and all the volunteers!

There wasn't a lot of trash talking because everybody passed out during the drive! The Fort Worth boys had a good showing...well done to everyone!

I also want to thank RUSTY'S MOM...that meal Saturday night was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! I was a complete stranger to Shreveport when I arrived, but left feeling like part of the family. Thanks again to everyone who made me feel at home!

RUSTY'S MOM- what a sweet heart. If every club had a mom like this, there would be double the amount of PDGA members and double the turn out at every event! SHE IS AWESOME

Any idea what the SSA is for each course?

Lee, Not sure what you need but the SSA is listed under PDGA/info/course rating (for last years Challenge in same format just harder OB this year)

I've played the Island Green a few times. I keep getting on from Cement but sinking from Red. Wierd too, I aced 13 Red 3 weeks ago.
