I think last year they used just the Bayville course, but that was not an A-tier tourney.
Talk to us Zilla!

This year will like this:
Day One - Pros play Munden Point DGC and AMS play Bayville DGC
Day Two - Pros play Bayville DGC
It's a 2 day A tier for Pro and a 1 day B tier for AMS
or just follow the link to Bayvilles site

Depends on who you ask.
Bayville is an old course, built before the bevel-edged disc was invented. It needs to be viewed in that context and it's probably not fair to judge it against modern courses. It's a really fun place. There have been modifications and modernizations since I first started playing there back in 1985.
I haven't played Munden Point.

We reviewed these courses for a potential VA Beach Worlds bid and this event is their effort to raise the bar for disc golf events in their area. Bayville is almost completely wooded with mature trees that were pretty mature even when that course went in around 1980. The long layout is pretty compact meaning some ricochet's will end up in other fairways. However, there's space in the park to expand in other areas and maybe the plan will be to skip some holes and add some other ones so there's some "breathing room" in the regular area.
Munden Point is on the coastline so water comes into play on several holes. It's a nicely groomed, relatively open, medium length course that's mostly flat with only a gentle slope toward the water (several roller opps). The holes near the water will rack up a few OB penalties and they're a little close to each other in spots due to the thin strips of land projecting into the water that are used for a few tees and pins.

Ladies and Gents of all divisions and ages, please come out and join us for what I believe will be the biggest and most entertaining event in Southeast Virginia this year, The Virginia Beach Bash. :)The hospitality of the Bayvillians is legendary, as any visitor to Camp Chicken can verify. :DThe club has done alot of work to make this tournament special for everyone. Not only that, the players from Bayville travel to almost all the regional events supporting Disc Golf (Just look at the tournament results) They deserve our support as well. So, bring it on Richmond, NOVA, Blue Ridge, Team Trim, RADL and all you Disc Golf lovers out there. This is what its all about. Fun, Fellowship and alot of trash talking.

Don't forget the am scores. I noticed they weren't posted and also that the "to par" wasn't relative to a 20 hole course. I assume that will be fixed.

What a great time at the Beach Bash, Thank-You Bayville :D
A smaller Pro turnout than they were hoping, but as you can see from the results they were glad to have us in any form. Next time this club runs a supertour I hope they can get some more support from the region, this is a great time on many levels.
Had a great weekend playing Schwebe, JJ and The Mose who continues on his World Championship terror.
Most food at a player party on tour? :p
