I was wondering if there would be any interest in a z-boaz league using the Thur night mini scores allowing players to drop 4 out of 12 rounds.

how about 10 out of 12
Sorry, its been a while since I visited my own thread....
Here is the skinny....
Thursday night ace pot starting @ 967 next week.
This Sunday starting @ 1167
I am very suprised to say that we are seeing very little turn out with this much money in the ace pot. Come and get it before I do!
Also, we have began an adopt a hole program @ the Mighty Z.
Holes one, nine, and twelve are currently spoken for. The parking lot and local parking lot are also available for adoption. Please understand that adoption does not give you the right to dramatically alter the face of the course. Litter control and asthetics are the main focus as of now. Please consult with me or Brian Mace prior to ANY landscaping. I am currently working on obtaining a donation in the form of flower planters to help dress up the course a little. Anybody that can gather PLASTIC 55 gallon drums, please get with me, the course needs them! Thanks !
All you locals on the forum... Heed this. We need to clean up the MIGHTY Z before this weekend! Anybody with a little time on their hands would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks Guys and Gals , you rock!

Lee,
What holes still need to be adopted? The Hero family will gladly adopt a hole at the almighty Z.
CURRENTLY THE FOLLOWING HOLES ARE SPOKEN FOR....
The parking lot,
Hole 1, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14.
The remaider of the course is available.
For all of you out there that may have access to 55 gallon drums, we need those! We prefer plastic, but we will take what we can get. Also, we are working on a recycling program that will directly benefit the course. We need an aluminum recycling receptacle that can be locked . Too many theiving weasles out there!
Thanks John, let me know which hole you want. I will tell you this, hole 3,4,5,6, and 7 will be the last ones to go.
That is where we will need the most help!

I am sure the Q's will adopt a hole. I will call Don later to find out which hole he wants. Did I understand correctly that clean-up needs to be done BEFORE this weekend?
Don was saying last night that he really wants to go play this mini tonight, so you may see him out there. Depending on weather and how Ian and I feel, we may all be there. Ian went out for his first mini last night at Veteran's.
Don is a great Mr. Mom.
I am so jealous! I want to be Mr Mom! You guys come on out!
There are several holes still available, I will be there tonight filling the slots! Hope to see u 3 there!
UPDATE : THE FOLLWOING HOLES ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE Z-BOAZ ADOPT A HOLE PROGRAM.

I will be more than happy to show you the pay out sheet!
It is all there in Black and Yellow.
Unfortunately they SYSTEM ( thru out the disc golf community) is structured to where the more participants that enter, the more that get paid. That does not always
equate to more money for the winner. Is that right, yes and no........... If the pay out was set up to reward the top 3 regardless of how many participants, the competition would stop showing up! Sad fact of life!

I didn't say that the payout sheet does not tell you to pay out the way that Mace did last night, but it still sucks. If the acepot was not so big I would not show up on thurs at all.
If we would have had that many people at the Vet or cedarhill I would have got close to $80 and that is a fact.
my_hero
Sep 08 2006, 03:03 PM
25 open players at the VET ($11 entry) yields $65
That payout last night was directly off of the pay sheet!
One moment, let me check the sheet!
For an entry fee of 8 dollars the following is fact...
3 dollars for ace and course fund.
Leaving 5 dollars towards pay out, the run down for 25 players is as follows
1- 34
2- 24
3- 17
4- 15
5- 11
6- 10
7- 8
8- 6
Eight out of 25 is roughly 32 percent pay out- the norm!
Do I disagree with your argument, no. Would another course yeild a higher pay out? Yes...... The other courses also have a higher entry fee. SO your pay discrepancy is directly affected by the 3 to 4 dollar difference in entry fee's.

The payout sheet is perfect. Unfortunately we are playing for each others money. If you want to win more then you must pay more. You're doing a great job. Keep up the good work!
And that is why people like you John. Having the capacity to realise that when people VOLUNTEER their time, critisizm is not a worth while persuit. Double Entandra much
Come on out guy's and gal's. Tonight's ace pot should push over the 1100.00 dollar mark! We are running out of daylight and you are running out of time to get that $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$.
On that note, we will be walking to our holes @ 6 p.m. sharp. We have been finishing up in the dark when we have late arrivals. Call me if you are going to be late!!!!!

This brings up a good point! We will be hosting the mini as long as daylight allows us to. We will be cutting holes from the format in the next couple of weeks. I will make sure those holes are not ACE contenders. The absolute cut off for the thursday mini will be when we run out of light before 9 holes. So plan on several more weeks of golf.
3 more weeks of the Thursday Mini, better come get that ace pot!
Some people #$*&$! and moan that there aren't enough ace runs. Some people worry about someone coming in and taking away our money too easy. Where do we go? What is the ultimate goal? Are we trying for the 20 gazillon dollar ace pot that nobody ever hits? Or is this supposed to just be fun? I, for example, don't have very many ace runs in the current setup(or any setup for that matter) along with many others
Lets talk about what all of you think about what should be done or not done reguarding this. I would like to move holes every week, but i don't like to hear #$*&$! every week! Maybe some of you more experienced golfers could tell me something that I don't know yet.
3 more weeks of the Thursday Mini, better come get that ace pot!
Hey Lee, what is gonna happen to the Thursday ace pot when time changes? Please don't tell me that it is gonna carry over to putt night?!?!?!?
Why is there not an all encompassing Zboaz thread? I'm sure this could be entertaining!

What is up with hole 16?
are we fliping it. Looks like some work got done this weekend while we were kicking some arse.

16 could be the best hole on the course right now, why change it????
However, if yoiu make a trail to hole 17, it would flow better.

Pizza, are you saying that you have a problem with blindly walking into a fairway to get to the next tee? :D
Just got rid of the brush that was piled up between 15 & 16. Brian said something about a work day the week after Crowley. WTG team Z-Boaz!!!!!! :D

a tee box at one end with a basket at the other :D
What are the plans for that hole???
Flip it DR. The new tee will basically be where the basket's are now. The new basket will be back where the long tee is as of now. This design change facilitates many flow issues with this hole . There will be a trail cut from long 16 ( current tee ) to the back side of 17 ( soon to be new long tee ) It is going to work very nice , the new design will be very difficult , as one would expect from z-boaz.
just think, no more walking blind onto the fairway, dodging disc's !
all baskets moved short at z boaz for next two weeks!
