how will the am payout be structured?? flat, steep, pdga recommended (I hope not), players packs ??, players packs deducted??
John, thanks for posting the tournament out here.
The payouts are usually steep at the top and flaten out more towards the bottom. There is no players pack at this tournament. Takes away from payout and/or makes the entry fees higher. I like to keep the entry fees small and still put on a good tournament.

Shawn typically runs a pretty flexible tournament....however, this tournament (as do all tournaments held at Conroe) fill, so I wouldn't get caught waiting to register on Saturday. I know there is some conflict with Wimberly tourny and even the new WilCo course mini north of Austin, but it looks like a lot of CenTex Golfers want to play a sanctioned event....Conroe is the only one that weekend. Personally, I can't wait....I love the concrete pads, the shade, and the layout....If you've never played Conroe, I highly recommend it.
Shawn, isn't there doubles on Friday?

Not to rain on the parade, but we do have a sanctioned event in Abilene this weeend :D
Good luck in Conroe everyone!
So nice to point that out on the CONROE thread...

....and pointed out in jest...just a little friendly ribbing.
Hot....dry...windy......that about covers it!! :D
There will be Friday night bring your partner doubles. Flex start between 4:00 and 6:30...two divisions open and ams...$10 a player ($20 per team).
Also, I will be at the course on Friday afternoon and evening taking sign ups. I am trying to get time to post the players list.

After I posted my comment I remembered there was a C Tier in Abilene...no offense...it just slipped my mind! And to tell yo the truth, I much prefer hot, humid, and stagnent than dry, dusty and windy ;)

Any of you disc golfers up for a little poker on Sunday afternoon? Slim, and Cecil expressed some interest last night, Gimp is usually good for a game, Alex ?, AZ Jim? Gun? Nez? I know that there is a growing Hold em group of disc golfers here in Houston, is anyone interested?
I am thinking of taking a boat ride on Saturday night after tourney.

I don't have all of the scores, all I've got is the twenty scores of the HFDS Bag-tag players.
That alone was pretty impressive, but we had tags numbered 002, 003, 004 in play at this tourney! LoL!!! The 002 is heading down to Brooks on Michael Ynfante's bag! Congrats Michael!
We had a $5 Ace pot entry for a 1-day C-tier. I whined about it before getting started yesterday morning, but then I changed my tune when I scored my first tournament Ace - which also turned out to be the only Ace out there! $330! Melissa and I had a nice 5 course lobster dinner last night! :D
Congrats to the winners of each division:
MPO - Robby Hendrick 94
MM1 - Cecil Lakin 103
MA1 - Chris Cortez 96
FW1 - De'atra Hunter 112
MA2 - Heath Falzarano 106
MA1 - Jay Robbins 109
FW1 - Bridget McDonald 125
Thanks for everyone that came out the CONROE OPEN. It was a great success, look forward to seeing eveyone at the next tourney!

Hey Shawn! Thanks for another great Conroe Open! I love playing that course!
Let me know if you want any help getting those results posted online on the PDGA Tour area...
Next one - I'll take on the "job" of getting some cold water out on the back of that course though! I couldn't drink down enough water yesterday! LoL!!!

Thank you Shawn for running the show. I know how difficult it can be at Conroe, especially with our favorite neighbor requesting a strong Police presence. I had fun but I must say, I don't miss the humidity. It was good seeing old friends and making new ones throughout the week.
Now, with that being said....
Full Scoreboard? Round Ratings? :D

Well, given how well EVERYONE behaved, I would hope that the resources of the Conroe Police Dept., would not be required in such an OVERKILL mode next time round! We are due some respect out there.
We all know that McDade is MUCH better off with disc golf in the park. Even that crotchety oldtimer needs to admit things are much nicer out there with us around. :D
Shawn and Proturn, thanks again for an always fun event.

SuperGirl had a great time at the tournament. She was very happy to get second place out of 7 rec women. She also enjoyed playing with all the ladies on her card.
The highlights this weekend for SuperGirl where:
1. Getting 3 birdies during her practice round on Friday (this is the most birdies she has ever made in a single round). She made one birdie during the tournament on Saturday (however she missed 4 birdie putts on Saturday that were within 20 feet).
2. Getting her first par (3) on hole 1 (407 feet???).
3. Finishing with the same score for the tournament as Pat Stallman (who played adv women). Pat has beaten Nicole every time that have played each other. At Texas States this past April, Pat beat Nicole by 19 strokes. So Nicole was thrilled when she learned that she finished with the same score as Pat. It may be a long time before Nicole is able to tie Pat again, so she was very happy to do it this one time.
4. Attending the Jewel and Rob Thomas concert on Saturday night in the Woodlands.
SuperGirls next tournament will be the Texas 10 tournament in Lewisville. She is hoping for a good ladies turnout.
ThanksRick and Nicole
PS.We want to congratulate Bridget for wining the rec womens division. She was on fire during the first round on Saturday. Bridget has some big time talent and will only get better.
Thanks for everyone who participated. The scores have been posted!

It's very hard to call a shot that nets $330 a "bad shot."
Thank you for the honorable mention folks!!! My 3rd ace ever, and first tournament ace pot. Neal Martinez tossed one in the chains while we watched him warm up just before the round began...maybe it was good karma for me! Thanks Neal! Give Jarred a high five for me!
It was a very tense afternoon round trying to listen for the sound of any more war-whoops indicating I was going to be splitting it! The first split is always the hardest one.
